Boat Crew Saves A Young Raccoon That Was Barely Managing To Stay Afloat
During a Fourth of July boat trip, a routine day on the water turned into a rescue mission no one expected. What started as strange sounds overhead soon became desperate cries coming from the water below.
After hours of searching, the passengers and crew found a young raccoon barely staying afloat beside the boat. With the animal exhausted and time running out, they had to act fast, but they also had to be careful about how they helped.
In the end, a simple life preserver and a tow to shore made all the difference, and the little raccoon got a second chance.
This baby raccoon was the source of that strange sound. It was keeping itself afloat, but just barely.

That was the moment the rescue became real.
The people onboard tied a rope to a life preserver and threw it to the frightened raccoon. The exhausted animal managed to climb up and take a breather. One of the crew members then took a dinghy and towed the raccoon ashore.

Thanks to some quick thinking, the raccoon was saved. If you are wondering why the crew didn’t bring it on board, it’s because they didn’t want to touch it and leave a human scent on the animal. There is a possibility that it wouldn’t be accepted back into its family because of that. We all hope that the poor animal managed to find them and that they are all together now.
What a close call for one tiny passenger.
