Cat’s Meows Help Rescuers Discover That Her 83-Year-Old Owner Fell Into A Ravine
Cats are intelligent and loyal animals. They reciprocate the love and care they receive from their owners.
Their ability to think quickly has been proven in one cat's smart move to have her 83-year-old owner rescued after falling into a ravine. This cat is none other than Piran.
The incident happened in Cornwall, England. Neighbors alerted the authorities as soon as they noticed that the elderly woman had been missing for a significant number of hours. The search and rescue operation began as soon as the Bodmin Police's rescue unit arrived in the area.
Not long after, a passerby heard constant meows from the clever black feline. The neighbors identified the cat as Piran, the elderly lady's furry friend.
Piran had been meowing so loudly that it led the passerby to inform the police officers, suggesting it could be a lead. Indeed, this unexpected source was instrumental in the elderly lady's rescue.
There, they discovered that the 83-year-old woman had fallen into the 70-ft ravine. The depth was no joke, and the terrain was quite treacherous, so one can only imagine what could have happened if she had not been spotted quickly.
Fortunately, the elderly lady was rescued in time, thanks to Piran! Check the photos of the actual rescue.
This is Piran, the cat who meowed with all her might to get help in saving her owner.
Piran's efforts were not in vain, as her loud meowing was heard by a passerby who immediately alerted the police officers.
She was staying at the corner of the maize field close to their home.

The rescuers found the missing old lady!
Thanks to Piran, the 83-year-old lady was found to have fallen down the 70-ft ravine. The descent was very steep, making it difficult to embark.
The terrain was also uneven, complicating access for the rescuers. They required assistance from the fire crew.

The rescuers finally reached the 83-year-old woman and hoisted her back up to the field on a stretcher through line rescue.
Eventually, the fire crew managed to pull the old woman up. They used a stretcher to carry her from the ravine.
Surprisingly, the old woman was unharmed and, in fact, in high spirits. She was then transported to the hospital for an immediate check-up.

The old lady was taken to the hospital via air ambulance.
In addition to Cornwall's Fire and Rescue Service, their Air Ambulance team was also present to take the old lady to the hospital.
While she was unharmed and in stable condition, she was taken to the hospital and placed under supervision for a couple of days.

Here's an update from the Bodmin Police on their page about the rescue.
The Bodmin Police have recognized and credited Piran for her heroic deed, writing on their page, "Piran the cat saved the day!" Yes, thank goodness for this quick-thinking and smart cat.
Everyone in the neighborhood witnessed her heroic act, and thanks also to the great teamwork of all servicemen and rescuers. If not for all their hard work, the outcome could have been much worse.
