Cat’s Meows Help Rescuers Discover That Her 83-Year-Old Owner Fell Into A Ravine
A missing cat ended up doing what no one else could, and it led rescuers straight to an 83-year-old woman in trouble. Piran, a black cat with a loud meow and a sharp sense of timing, became the unexpected reason help arrived fast.
The woman had gone missing in Cornwall, England, and neighbors quickly raised the alarm. When a passerby heard Piran calling out near the area, the sound pointed rescuers toward a steep ravine where the elderly owner had fallen.
It was a small clue with a huge result, and the rescue that followed was anything but ordinary. Read on.
This is Piran, the cat who meowed with all her might to get help in saving her owner.
Piran's efforts were not in vain, as her loud meowing was heard by a passerby who immediately alerted the police officers.
She was staying at the corner of the maize field close to their home.

The rescuers found the missing old lady!
Thanks to Piran, the 83-year-old lady was found to have fallen down the 70-ft ravine. The descent was very steep, making it difficult to embark.
The terrain was also uneven, complicating access for the rescuers. They required assistance from the fire crew.

The rescuers finally reached the 83-year-old woman and hoisted her back up to the field on a stretcher through line rescue.
Eventually, the fire crew managed to pull the old woman up. They used a stretcher to carry her from the ravine.
Surprisingly, the old woman was unharmed and, in fact, in high spirits. She was then transported to the hospital for an immediate check-up.

That quick response reminds us of the injured Siberian tiger that sought human help in a village.
The old lady was taken to the hospital via air ambulance.
In addition to Cornwall's Fire and Rescue Service, their Air Ambulance team was also present to take the old lady to the hospital.
While she was unharmed and in stable condition, she was taken to the hospital and placed under supervision for a couple of days.

Here's an update from the Bodmin Police on their page about the rescue.
A tiny meow ended up making all the difference. The Bodmin Police have recognized and credited Piran for her heroic deed, writing on their page, "Piran the cat saved the day!" Yes, thank goodness for this quick-thinking and smart cat.
Everyone in the neighborhood witnessed her heroic act, and thanks also to the great teamwork of all servicemen and rescuers. If not for all their hard work, the outcome could have been much worse.
