Cat Obsessed Artist Vows To Draw A Cat Every Day Until She Can Finally Adopt One
Drawing cats from memes is not something any average person can do; you'll have to be as talented as animation student Emily Paquin, also known as Catwheezie. Every day, she posts a different drawing of a popular cat, and she isn't planning on stopping until she reaches 100 drawings—or maybe even more.
Bored Panda conducted an interview with Em, where she shared her thought process while drawing her cat portraits and why she decided to start this project in the first place. Scroll down to check it out!
Cat lover Em started her project on June 13th:
“Most of the cats I draw are from popular cat images I find online through Instagram. I've always loved these types of funny cat pictures and remember being a kid, printing out similar ones and gluing them on my school notebooks,”

Em has been an art lover her entire life. She told Bored Panda that the first thing she ever learned how to draw was cats.
When asked about her studies, she said:
“Currently, I attend an art college and study animation and illustration.” So we should definitely expect more great things from Em after she finally obtains her degree.
It takes Catwheezie anywhere from 2 to 3 hours to finish each illustration. However, it all depends on the level of detail she wants to achieve and how much free time she has on her hands.

The artist mentioned that she always has an extra "emergency" cat just in case she's too busy to create new art:
“Usually, I work on several of them at a time so I can ensure I'll have a new cat to post every day. A lot of planning goes into this project,”
It's true that a lot of pleasure comes from drawing cats, but drawing cat memes is not something we see that often. It turns out that the artist desperately wanted a kitten, and drawing them was her way of subtly letting her family know.

Cats Will Rule the World

“The project started when I decided to draw a cat every day until I was able to adopt one myself. For a while, I imagined I might be drawing cats forever, doomed to never adopt one. Magically, things fell into place, and on day 21, my family and I adopted Beanie, a two-month-old rescue kitten,” Em shared the amazing news.
However, her project didn't stop there, as she continued working on it despite getting the cat of her dreams, which we're all thankful for.

“With many people invested in the journey, I continued to draw even after my quest to adopt a cat ended. I set my goal to 100 consecutive days! After that, who knows? If people aren't sick of my cat art by then, I'd be glad to continue.”
