Man Has Emotional Reunion With His 19-Year-Old Cat 7 Years After He Went Missing
Seven years is a long time to wonder what happened to a missing pet, especially when there was never a real goodbye. Robert had already given up a move from California to Ohio and spent another year searching for his tabby cat, Chebon, before life forced him to accept the worst.
Then came the kind of phone call most pet owners only dream about. A woman had found a sick-looking cat, a vet scanned the microchip, and suddenly Robert was being told that Chebon was alive after all.
What happened next turned a painful loss into an emotional reunion nobody saw coming.
“I remember at one point I was praying and I said, ‘God, I’ll do anything, just bring my Chebon back,’” Robert said in a video posted by Ventura County Animal Services.

A prayer, a missing cat, and seven years of waiting made this reunion hit even harder.
But Chebon seemed to have disappeared forever.

Until seven years later, when a woman spotted a cat that looked unwell, so she caught it and took it to the vet. Luckily, the cat was microchipped and was instantly identified as Chebon. That's when Robert received the shocking phone call.

That phone call changed everything.
“I was afraid there was some kind of mistake,” Robert said. He decided to fly to LA to see Chebon right away.

When Robert saw the cat, he knew immediately that it was Chebon and burst into tears. They were finally back together.
