Cat Disappears From Her Family Home Only To be Found Six Days Later - 280 Miles Away
Losing a pet is a very stressful experience, and you need all the help you can get to find it.
Your greatest hope for finding lost pets is to contact the neighborhood watch and support groups in your area. These kind people will frequently come together to assist you in finding your missing pet.
The neighborhood watch group that located the lost cat in our story was more than 250 miles away, so that's not exactly what happened in this case, but we're very sure the rule still holds true! Ashley is a lovely Siamese cat who recently experienced being outside for the first time after a housekeeper unintentionally left a bathroom window open in her family's home.
Ashley's parents assumed she was simply sleeping somewhere when she first went missing because they live in the far-flung town of Glan Conwy in North Wales. They became quite concerned for the welfare of their cat, though, when she stopped appearing for mealtimes.
Wanting to help, their neighbors got together and began searching almost every nook and cranny in Wales, but it brought no results.
That is, until a week later, when the couple received a message from a lost-and-found agency in East London, nearly 280 miles from the family's home in Wales. Ashley had been located safe and sound (though a little afraid) by the group known as Pippa's Army, who asked the couple to come and rescue their cat right away.
Of course, they did, and shortly after that, the emotional reunion took place. But what's truly amazing about this story is the cat's journey.
Take a look, and you will see what we mean:
Ashley was found 280 miles away from home, six days after she had disappeared from her home
Ashley is shown here with Allan and his dog Bobby after they discovered her in their Essex garage. She undoubtedly stunned these two with her piercing blue eyes. But as soon as they noticed how kind she is, they immediately brought her inside and got to work on a plan to get Ashley back home.

Allan and his dog Bobby found her in their garage
It was Bobby who found Ashley. By then, she had already spent six days away from home. His owner, Allan, believed that Ashley was from Essex, so he decided to call a group called Pippa's Army, which had previously assisted many Essex residents in finding their lost dogs.

She was scared and confused

They notified an organization called Pippa's Army

The owner was thrilled when he saw the good news:

This is the distance the cat had traveled:

This is Ashley with her owner again:

Ashley's owner shared the good news:

Pippa's Army can be found on Twitter

And IG too:

Ashley got back home safely, and Pippa's Army has continued to find abandoned pets and reunite them with their owners across the UK. There are a couple of lessons to be learned here.
First, don't leave your windows and doors open. The second is that Pippa's Army should be contacted if you or a friend who lives in the UK loses a pet.
They are amazing.
