Cat With An Adorably Judgmental Look Because Of His Injuries Is Looking For His New Forever Home
Looks are most definitely not everything—but unfortunately, most people still live by this stigma. This is especially true when they are trying to choose a pet.
It's rare for aspiring pet owners to want an animal companion that already has some injuries and a misshapen appearance because they don't want to be burdened by the additional costs. This leaves the animals longing even more for a new family to come home to. It is somewhat a blessing and a curse, though, because it makes it easier for shelters to rule out which people are unfit to care for injured and elderly animals.
If they don't want to take care of these minority animals because they cannot cover the expenses that come with them, then they are indirectly saving the animal from further harm and ensuring they stay in the shelter until a good-hearted family comes along to adopt them—one that can afford to ensure that the animal will be safe and healthy in the long run.
One prime example of this is a particular cat that found temporary care under the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA). He was found as an injured stray and needed surgeries; however, when he healed, he was left with a misshapen look that made him appear somewhat suspicious of everyone and everything.
Meet Lawrence.
This cat was found as a stray when the RSPCA took him in. He had existing injuries that required surgery, particularly in his right eye.
However, during the healing process, the injuries left him with a misshapen look—making him appear permanently suspicious and a little bit judgmental. He's still the same sweet cat, though, and this feature only makes him look more unique and adorable.
The downside? His appearance seems to be warding off people who could potentially adopt him.

It's quite sad to see Lawrence just waiting for potential adopters, but they tend to judge him by his peculiar appearance.
“We have struggled to find a home for poor Lawrence despite him being such a friendly and loving cat,” Georgina Holding, fostering and rehoming coordinator at the RSPCA’s Friern Barnet branch, said in a press release.
“We’re worried that his unique look is putting off potential adopters, as we either haven’t had any applications for him or any interest we have had has fallen through. It seems like poor Lawrence has just been ‘ghosted.’ It’s so sad to see such a fantastic cat waiting this long to find his forever home.”

To be fair, he doesn't even look that weird—the aftermath of his surgery from the injuries looks normal. Still, we hope this just means that the perfect family or person to take him in is just finding their way to him.
People at the shelter are still feeling hopeful that Lawrence's new owner will show up soon. It's disheartening to see animals like Lawrence left feeling hopeless while watching all the other animals get adopted, but we're crossing our fingers that someone will finally show up and fall in love at the sight of him, judgmental look and all.

Currently, Lawrence is living under a foster family's care, playing with the kids.
As for a forever home, Lawrence prefers an environment that isn't too chaotic, although he is now used to living with kids in his foster home. He would very much love a yard where he could nap under the sun.
He is also a very snuggly cat, so a family who loves hugs would be perfect for him. He also loves to play with ping-pong balls and just about anything that would give him a good time.

“We’d urge anyone who is looking to bring a cat into their life to please take a chance on Lawrence,” Holding said. “We think he is beautiful inside and out!”
We're sure that the right family or person for Lawrence is just out there. Maybe that's even you!
