We Are Much Stronger When We Have Someone To Support Us – These Two Sister Cats Are Raising Their Eight Kittens Together
Animals (including cats) can share deep and strong bonds. When cats form a friendship, they want to do everything together.
They'll cuddle up for a double nap or enjoy each other's company during dinner. Bonded cats also like grooming one another and giving each other kitty kisses by rubbing their mouths together.
Even play between two bonded felines is gentler. A pair of bonded cats might do something incredibly cute, like twining their tails together while walking around the shelter, if they're like sisters Xeno and Ripley!
Xeno and Ripley are two perfect examples of bonded cats. These adorable sisters are thought to have been together since the beginning of their lives, and they even nurtured their kitten litters as one big happy family.
The two mothers and their eight kittens are so close that the Exploits Valley SPCA employees and volunteers aren't sure which kitten belongs to either mom! Xeno and Ripley were just a year old when they arrived at the Exploits Valley SPCA in the Grand Falls district of Newfoundland, Canada, each weighing less than four pounds.
They had eight kittens between the two of them. That is a big family.
And there is so much love there. Let's get to know them better:
Meet sisters Xeno and Ripley
This wonderful family has so much love to share.
“This family is extra small in size but not in personality,” shared the SPCA. “The kittens and moms are all super tiny, vocal, friendly, and fun.”
“Their babies needed a few extra weeks to grow, so we’ve had them in a room to themselves and have been constantly entertained by them,” SPCA Volunteer Sarah MacLeod says.

Xeno and Ripley, who were barely out of their baby days themselves, realized that it takes a village to raise that many kittens, so the two mothers pooled their resources to form one huge happy family.
“They share the kittens completely — one minute all eight could be nursing from either mom,” said Sarah.

This pair of kitty moms have their hands full with kittens most of the time, but when they have a moment to themselves, they stick together.

And these darling kitties, all twined together, make their way to their room's window because, as Sarah stated, “They love looking out the glass door into the hallway.”

While Xeno and Ripley have yet to find their forever home, it appears that they will in the near future. Applications are flowing in from all across the world, including the United States, according to the SPCA. And it's understandable.
Take a look at those large, wide eyes and long ears... They are adorable.
