Being woken up by a giant furry ball is nothing new for dog owners, but this Polk County, Tennessee, couple was taken aback when they learned that the dog curled up next to them wasn't one of their pets. Being woken up next to one, if not all, of their three lovely dogs is simply a typical day at work for Julie Johnson and her husband, Jimmy.

However, on a certain day, they discovered that the enormous sleeping dog in their bed wasn't theirs. The woman told THE DODO that her husband said, "Julie. Whose dog is this?"

She turned over, and they just stared at each other for the first 10 seconds. She was only trying to cuddle, so the woman said, "That's not our dog."

The Johnsons, who adore animals, didn't object to receiving a bear hug. They needed to determine how the cute puppy got inside and, more importantly, whose dog she might be, so they posted the amazing story on Facebook.

And, because Facebook is the ideal platform for sharing such heartwarming stories, it didn't take long for the post to go viral and attract the attention of the dog's owner. The woman wrote, saying that "it is absolutely normal to wake up in our house with one of OUR dogs in bed with us."

"One small problem: THIS IS NOT OUR DOG, nor do we know how she got in our house. At first, we thought it was one of ours, but they rarely lay on the pillows! In pitch darkness, I just assumed it was. Wouldn’t we all?
As daylight began to creep in through our curtains, we realized we were snuggling with someone else’s dog. This is the weirdest post I have ever had to make. Is this your dog? Please share."

They shared the incredible story in a Facebook post

Cris and Felicia Hawkins, who reside in the same neighborhood as the Johnsons, are the owners of the dog, Nala. They humorously noted on their social media that their overly friendly dog "had hit an all-time record for ignoring personal space and added another trick to her vast repertoire of Houdini tricks." According to Dr. Alexandra Solomon, a relationship expert, "Pets often become integral members of our families, and their behaviors can reflect our own dynamics." "She slipped her collar yesterday while being walked, ran down the street to a neighbor’s house, somehow managed to get IN their house, and climbed into bed with them in the middle of the night."

As it turned out, Nala ‘slipped her collar’ and ran through the neighborhood into the Johnson's house

It actually happened that Nala had "slipped her collar" and proceeded to run through the neighborhood. However, the Johnson family’s back door was unintentionally left open, allowing the amiable dog to slip inside and decide to join the couple on their bed. As Dr. Ian Kerner, a renowned sex therapist, notes, "Unexpected moments can create unique bonds between families, often leading to cherished memories."

It is awesome to see as well as creepy too, but then it brought the two families together for a photo, illustrating how shared experiences can enhance relationships.
