Camera Captures The Moment This Adorable Chameleon Hatches, But It Doesn't Even Realize It's Out Of Its Shell
Some hatch moments are cute, but this one is next-level. A Pennsylvania pet shop breeder shared photos of a chameleon hatching, and the best part is it still looks like a tiny, curled-up mystery in its shell. The breeder stepped in to help, and it’s not just adorable, it’s also a safety move, because they explained that repeated struggling can lead to injuries.
When the camera captured the exact second it was out, the little hatchling didn’t even seem to realize it had made it.
A pet shop breeder in Pennsylvania shared these beautiful images with us as they assisted with the hatching of this chameleon.
It's said that the chameleon was having trouble getting out of its egg, and this is when the breeder stepped in to assist. This little guy has vibrant hues, and like most chameleons, it can change its skin color to blend in or communicate.

I mean, how adorable is this little chameleon, all rolled up as if it's still in the egg?
Some animals that hatch from eggs may need a little assistance if they are having trouble, and that's when this breeder stepped in. “I had to help him out of the egg. I don’t believe he would have been able to do it on his own as he didn’t pip correctly, so I helped him out,” said the owner of the Canvas Chameleon.

This really gives us a look into how they are positioned when inside their shells.
The breeder explained that sometimes these animals can hurt themselves if they cannot get out of the shell and keep trying to break free, so intervening keeps them safe and allows them to hatch freely.
This adorable little chameleon didn't even realize it was out of its shell. It can be seen rolled up here in a little ball, having just hatched but not yet stretched out.

The breeder in Canvas Chameleon’s shop in Pennsylvania noticed the egg wasn’t cooperating, and that’s when the assist started.
This rescue story echoes the eggshell rescue that turned into a remarkable transformation.
While the chameleon was still curled up like it was “still in the egg,” the owner said it didn’t pip correctly and likely wouldn’t have finished on its own.
Then the photos reveal that rolled, ball-shaped hatchling, just sitting there like, cool, I guess I’m out now.
And once it’s free, the whole point of the intervention clicks, because the breeder explained how continued trying can cause harm.
We've never really seen anything like this, and it definitely makes us think that lizards are cuter than you might expect. We are envious of the breeder's job, getting to see this adorable hatchling all the time, but we're happy that they shared this moment with us.
That baby chameleon hatched, got help, and still managed to look like the cutest little question mark on Earth.
Wait until you see how a cyclist chased a “pink blob” to save a life in distress, after spotting it on the roadside.
