Why does a cat neglect other people yet cling to one? Well, cats aren't exactly the most reliable animals.

It's a component of their leftover wildness, and if they were stray animals, it's occasionally a part of their mental baggage. For many cats, trusting just one human is challenging enough; having to do it with numerous people is frustrating.

There are additional explanations, though, for why certain cats only belong to one human. It could be the individual's demeanor, voice tone, or even how they treat the animal.

It's possible that the owner is extraordinarily kind or a little more assertive, which brings out the best in the pet. The cat in today's story was the meanest, most AH of a cat the OP has ever seen in her life.

OP and her partner got this cat for their daughter when she was sixteen. They named him Sid, but the OP preferred calling him Satan in disguise.

This was a little black and white kitten we got from our neighbor when their cat had kittens. He was always well cared for, but he just hated pretty much everybody except daughter, and he's always been like that. Even my Disney Princess DH, whom animals seem to flock to and adore, couldn't do much with this cat without being attacked, the OP wrote.

Then comes Gropey, who believes that animals love her, but this cat gives her a shocker.

The cat would lay in the OP's daughter's lap while she watched TV or did homework, purring like mad

The cat was adorable but the cuteness masked the evil that laid behind it

She reached for him, and Sid went from lovable purring to angry hissing
