This Labrador Retriever Rescue Became a Dad After Adopting 7 Abandoned Kittens
Bertie, a rescue Labrador retriever, proved that dogs can have a surprisingly soft spot for cats when he took on the job of caring for seven abandoned kittens. His owner, Rachel, works as the head nurse at the Battersea Animal Rescue charity, and she brought the tiny strays home after they were found on the streets.
Once the kittens arrived, Bertie seemed to know exactly what to do. He stayed close, watched over them, and quickly became their unlikely foster dad while they waited for a new home.
Maybe he understood what it meant to be abandoned, or maybe he was just being a very good boy.

The little kittens clearly felt safe with him.
This reminds us of the stray mama dog that needed help from men at a bachelor party, too.
