Dog Knocks On Her Best Friend's Door Every Day To See If She Can Come And Play
This story is something right out of a movie from the 1950s. You know the ones, where the kids are all running rampant around the neighborhood, hanging out with other kids, and then their parents scream at them to come home for dinner—I mean, maybe this happened in real life too, but it seems dangerous, and I’ve only seen it in movies!
Except, this story is not about kids having harmless 1950s fun on a tree-lined street; it is about some very mischievous puppies! Friendships between dogs are some of the purest relationships that you will ever see.
I mean, dogs don’t have squabbles about politics, opinions, or any of the drama that fills human relationships. Dogs just find another dog whose vibe matches theirs, who also likes to play in the mud, or whose favorite toy is also a tennis ball, and after a lengthy butt sniff, the dogs become best friends for life.
It is an incredible, uncomplicated relationship, and maybe we humans should learn a thing or two about creating instant and powerful connections. This is the story of two dogs who managed to find each other and become incredible friends—who are always just a hallway away.
One day, Shadow and her family were having an ordinary day and were about to leave to go on a walk. Suddenly, a random dog ran right into their apartment!
The other dog was so excited to see Shadow that she didn't wait to be invited inside. The dog just ran straight in.
Luckily, Shadow was just as excited to meet a new friend. They learned that her name was Lupa, and she lived just down the hall with her family.
From that moment on, Shadow and Lupa became best friends; it was like something out of a movie.
Ever since their first meeting, Shadow and Lupa have playdates almost every single day, and their entrances are just as chaotic as the first!
One of the parents will open the door, and then either Lupa or Shadow will sprint down the hallway and knock on their bestie's door! Sometimes, Lupa, desperate to hang out, manages to open the door all by herself; otherwise, they sit patiently and wait to be let inside.
When the two pups see each other, they go absolutely berserk. They run up and down the hallway and burst into each other's apartments.
Their parents are used to it now, and luckily, none of their neighbors seem to be too bothered by it!
The friendship goes both ways, and both dogs love to hang out with each other and have become the best of friends.

In a conversation with The Dodo, Olivia Schwab, Shadow's mom, said:
“Our security is obsessed with their friendship, as well as our vet. Our neighbors are completely okay with this (we live on a dog-friendly floor) and have had another dog join in on the fun.”
The dogs are such good friends that it also means their families have become good friends as well!
Shadow, Lupa, and their families do loads of activities together. They often take them on walks—and it would honestly be like parents chaperoning their kids on a double date!
Their playdates are sometimes just quick and fleeting hellos in the hallway, to long walks, and sometimes they even get to hang out at each other's houses. Shadow and Lupa's friendship means that they often get dog-sat together, and it is never enough for these two doggy besties!
Whenever the doors open, the two dogs always bolt straight away to try and see each other.
The friendship has caught on, and other dogs on the floor have decided to join in the fun!
