Dog Waits By The Fence So That The Neighbor Will Pet Her Through The Hole
Some dogs make themselves part of the neighborhood without ever leaving their yard. Crimson, a sweet dog with a talent for winning people over, has turned a fence line into her favorite social spot.
Her owner, Kyndra Pickens, says Crimson often waits by a hole in the fence so the neighbor, Susan, can reach through and pet her. The routine is simple, but it has become a small daily highlight for everyone involved, especially when the weather cooperates.
It is a tiny friendship with a big charm factor, and Crimson’s patience makes the whole thing even sweeter.
Some dogs just LOVE people, and Crimson is one of those beautiful dogs who will get attention from anywhere!
When the pandemic first started, they noticed that Crimson was spending a lot of time by the fence. They soon realized that their neighbor, Susan, who lives alone, was spending time petting her through the fence!

Kyndra Pickens, who is Crimson's loving owner told The Dodo:
“I oftentimes find Crimson patiently waiting by the hole, and sometimes I have to tell her Susan isn’t coming. As far as how often Susan pets Crimson through the hole - it’s weather-dependent because we don’t always let Crimson outside when it’s too cold, but I would say at a minimum a few times a week.”
Crimson clearly knows exactly where the good attention comes from.
It’s like the neighbors who built a window so they could keep petting their furry friend, even when rules got in the way in their own backyard.
It is a win-win: Crimson gets some love, and Susan gets some company!
“We had met Susan before she started doing this, but we loved her more when we realized what she was doing. We talk with Susan when we are outside, and we know she lives alone, so it makes us feel good that she has a little bright spot in her day with Crimson. For Christmas, we brought her some baked goods and got a picture of the two of them together.”

That little fence-side routine is doing a lot of heavy lifting for both of them.
