Gentle Dog Helps His Dog Sister To Overcome Her Anxiety And Car Sickness
Eddy is the kind of black lab that makes a family feel a little safer just by being nearby. He has a soft spot for his dog sister, Daisy, and he seems to know exactly when she needs help.
Ashley Karlin adopted Eddy two years ago to keep Daisy company, and the match was instant. The two dogs have been inseparable ever since, whether they are racing around the backyard or curling up side by side at home.
That bond matters even more in the car, where Daisy gets anxious and carsick, and Eddy has found his own way to calm her down.

“When she lies down in the back seat and starts to drool, Eddy lays the opposite way so he can rest his head on top of hers,” Karlin described. “If he doesn’t do this, Daisy constantly gets up, lies down, gets up, and lies down on repeat until she vomits.”

He really does seem to know when she needs a little extra help.
“I think Eddy just has a sense of when others aren’t feeling well, and he’s always there to comfort her,” Karlin explained. “We’ve noticed that every time they lie down together like this, she doesn’t puke and usually falls asleep.”
That same lifesaving instinct reminds me of the service dog who jumped in during a seizure at a grocery store.

But Eddy is also a pro at multitasking, he keeps an eye on his mom to make sure she’s alright and immediately spots any changes.
“My husband and I recently found out I’m pregnant, and one of the signs that tipped us off was that Eddy constantly puts his head on my tummy,” Karlin says. “Eddy has, on numerous occasions, woken me while I was sleeping to alert me that I was going hypoglycemic, even though he’s not trained to do so.”

This wonderful dog is always there when his family needs him, and they don’t even have to ask, he can sense when he is needed.
