Eddy is a black lab with the kindest heart. He loves his family and does everything he can to make them feel better, especially his sister, Daisy.

Eddy was adopted by Ashley Karlin two years ago. She needed a companion for her senior dog, Daisy, and she couldn’t have made a better choice because the two dogs have been inseparable since.

“Eddy and Daisy play like siblings. They egg each other on and run around in the backyard together,” Karlin says. “They sleep next to each other and sometimes on top of each other.”

Eddy is very perceptive. This kindhearted pooch can sense when his help is needed and acts immediately. One of the best examples is when Eddy comforts Daisy while they are traveling in a car.

The poor dog doesn’t like riding in a car and always gets sick. This makes her anxious when it’s time to go for a drive. Luckily, Eddy is here to make everything better.

“When she lies down in the back seat and starts to drool, Eddy lays the opposite way so he can rest his head on top of hers,” Karlin described. “If he doesn’t do this, Daisy constantly gets up, lies down, gets up, and lies down on repeat until she vomits.”

“I think Eddy just has a sense of when others aren’t feeling well, and he’s always there to comfort her,” Karlin explained. “We’ve noticed that every time they lie down together like this, she doesn’t puke and usually falls asleep.”

But Eddy is also a pro at multitasking—he keeps an eye on his mom to make sure she’s alright and immediately spots any changes.

“My husband and I recently found out I’m pregnant, and one of the signs that tipped us off was that Eddy constantly puts his head on my tummy,” Karlin says. “Eddy has, on numerous occasions, woken me while I was sleeping to alert me that I was going hypoglycemic, even though he’s not trained to do so.”

This wonderful dog is always there when his family needs him, and they don’t even have to ask—he can sense when he is needed.
