Dog Passes Next to a Man Sitting on a Park Bench and Then Realizes It’s Her Friend She Hasn’t Seen in Almost a Year
Some friendships never fade, even when months go by without a visit. That is exactly what happened when Rave, a sweet poodle, crossed paths with the man who trained her the year before.
Kim Carino had trusted her late brother’s friend with Rave’s training, and the two bonded during weekly sessions at a local park. After the training ended, nearly a year passed before they met again, and Carino wanted to see whether Rave would still remember him.
What happened on that park bench made the reunion even sweeter.
Ten months after the training finished, Carino and the trainer decided to meet in the park to surprise Rave. It was also a test. The friend would just sit quietly on the bench and see if Rave would recognize him.

“I wanted to see if she would know it was him. I suspected she would because she is a smart poodle,” Carino says. “When I saw the reaction she had to my brother’s friend, I had no doubt about how very special she is. It warmed my heart so.”
Much like the old dog who found his hooman after over a month missing, Rave’s recognition hits fast.
Seeing how much Rave enjoyed meeting her old trainer that day, they decided to make this meeting a regular occurrence.
“He's a forever friend of mine and Rave’s,” she said.
For Carino, Rave deserves nothing but the best.
“She’s the biggest gift in my life,” she says.
