Dog Siblings Quickly Recognise Each Other After Being Apart For So Long
Arlo thought it was just another ordinary trip to the dog park, with a ball to chase and plenty of room to run. Then a second golden retriever appeared at the gate, and the mood shifted fast.
At first, Arlo's dad, Jordan, assumed the two dogs were simply familiar park buddies. Arlo usually went out with Gina while Jordan was away for work, so the reunion did not seem unusual at first glance. But the way Arlo reacted suggested there was a lot more going on.
What happened next made the moment feel a lot more personal than a casual dog-park hello.
At first, it did not surprise Jordan when Arlo ran toward his new friend to greet him. However, upon witnessing how the two dogs interacted, he realized that something was different.

It's usually the other dogs who approach Arlo as he lies down and waits, according to his mom, Gina Neonakis.
But when this golden retriever entered the gates, they locked eyes and then sprinted toward each other; it was love at first sight. They started wrestling, chasing each other, and playing.

Jordan still thought that nothing out of the ordinary was happening until he decided to talk to the other golden retriever's owner.
He assumed they were merely good friends because it was Gina who mostly walked Arlo to the dog park while he was away for work. He thought the two golden retrievers only knew each other.
Arlo’s reunion energy is different, but it reminds us of the lamb rejected by its mom finding comfort with a dog.
It took some time before Arlo's parents realized that something truly special had occurred. Arlo and Baker (the other golden retriever) were born on the same day and came from the same place.
They had been playing for 10 minutes before it started to click that they were from the same litter.

That assumption did not last long.
The two golden retrievers last saw each other a year ago. Still, Arlo was able to recognize his brother upon laying eyes on him. Currently, Gina and Jordan still keep in contact with Baker's parents. However, since they live far away, their schedules could not align for another playdate. Nevertheless, the next time Baker's owners are in town, it has been settled that the two brothers will meet for another reunion.
For now, it seems that Arlo happily spends his days playing at the park with his ball, cuddling, and sleeping. Of course, he still socializes with the other golden retrievers he happens to meet.

Arlo’s instant recognition is sweet, but see what Buddy did after his army return.
