Guy Shocked After Getting A Speeding Ticket By Mail With A Picture Of His Dog On The Wheel
A speeding ticket in the mail is annoying enough, but one German driver got a version that looked almost impossible to believe. The photo attached to the citation seemed to show a small white dog sitting behind the wheel, which made the whole thing look more like a prank than a traffic violation.
The car belonged to a Twitter user's uncle, and the image quickly turned a routine fine into a bizarre family story. The real explanation is much less dramatic than a dog-led joyride, but the picture still does all the heavy lifting.
And yes, the ticket is every bit as strange as it sounds.
“My first reaction was: ‘That can’t be real,’” the nephew told The Dodo. “I think my uncle was just as surprised.”

Surely at this moment, we're all on the same page and thinking: Dogs don't know how to drive, so how did this happen?
Turns out, it was the uncle who was driving the car that day, and his dog was in the passenger seat.
Allegedly, the pup jumped onto the uncle's lap at the exact moment the traffic camera took that shot. Talk about mind-blowing timing, right?

“Normally, the dog wears a special car belt for safety,” the nephew said. “That day, my uncle forgot to put it on him, and the dog came to cuddle with him [as he was driving]. The funny part is, he was in his lap for just three seconds.”
Those few seconds were long enough to turn him into the prime suspect. The uncle ended up handling that fine despite the fact that he could have contested the ticket for lack of proof that he was the one behind the wheel.
“He paid it,” the nephew said. “But I can’t tell you what the authorities thought.”
This is similar to the driver who almost hit a dog in pitch-black darkness, then felt guilty.
That angle made the dog look like the driver, and that was enough to cause a little chaos.
They must have been so confused the moment they opened that letter.
That picture was taken from an angle that makes it seem like the dog was actually behind the wheel. It certainly would make anyone question reality for a second.
The uncle will probably keep that fine forever; it's hilarious, and you could trick people into thinking that your dog actually did go on an illegal joyride. It wouldn't be the first time a joyride occurred under unusual circumstances, right?

That ticket is going to be a family story for a long time.
Wait until you see the man blamed for a dog death after it chased him.
