She initially thought she had been robbed, but as soon as she saw a box of tissues lying on the floor torn open, she knew who had done it. Stevie, her lovely Labrador, was the one responsible for everything as she sneaked into the bedroom to perpetrate the act.
The woman said that "it was a heart-stopping moment" as she stared at her dog and thought "she hasn't, surely she hasn’t." But she had, indeed.
However, Elayna took her 7-month-old puppy to the vet just to be sure, and as she had anticipated, her concerns were actually true. Stevie had eaten her mother's priceless wedding ring, as the X-ray showed.
The woman was obviously quite relieved to learn the ring was gone, but now she had to figure out how to get it back. The woman told METRO that, after some investigation, the vets believed that the ring was too far down.

"Therefore, the only solution was to allow nature to take its course and let the ring pass through Stevie and out the other end," she added.

However, it turned out that retrieving the ring from Stevie's stomach was much more difficult than Elayna and her husband had anticipated. After the dog went outside, they used a metal detector to look for it, but it still took them four days to eventually find it.
The X-ray revealed that Stevie swallowed her mom’s precious ring
"My husband, Dave, even bought a metal detector to try to find it and then, thankfully, on day four, it finally appeared," the woman said. She also added that the ring "needed a good soak and washing."

They were worried that Stevie might have suffered internal injuries from swallowing the ring, but she came out of it unharmed. Maybe her mother will put the ring on her finger instead of the bedside table next time!
When the ring came out, it needed a good soaking and scrubbing
It is one shocking moment to find out that a precious jewel you kept in a spot is no longer there the next minute. It's even more perplexing when you're certain you left it there and then the culprit walks right in.
