Girl Takes Dying Dog On One Last Car Ride, Pup's Expression Is Just Heartbreaking
Although dogs can't speak, they have an uncanny ability to make us feel loved and bring us immense joy in life. Once you've earned the trust and love of a pup, they are always there with you through thick and thin.
You can expect them to stay by your side no matter what and to always ensure that you're happy. That's just how they're made.
They're simply precious, which is why losing them is not so simple.
In fact, losing a dog can be one of the most heartbreaking experiences in life. Dogs change your life for the better, and after spending so much time with them and creating countless memories, their loss can be profoundly painful.
What makes it even more painful is having to make the decision to put them down to end their suffering. It's a decision nobody ever wants to make, yet at times, it is a decision that must be made.
That was the case with Libra, the Pit Bull mix whose owners had to let her go to alleviate her suffering. Before that, however, they took her to do one of her favorite things in the world.
Here's her story.
Libra was just a tiny puppy when she became part of the Kramer household.
It didn't take long for the sweet little pooch to form a precious bond with the family's daughter, April, who was just 8 years old at the time.

Over the years, Libra also became great friends with the family's adorable kitten, Maxwell.

April and Libra grew up side by side, with Libra becoming a reliable source of support for the young girl.
After 15 blissful years together, however, Libra's health began to decline due to old age and illness. Her troubles started with violent seizures, which led to the discovery of cancerous pulmonary tumors.
After several checkups, the final verdict was clear—Libra was in a lot of pain and didn't have much time left. For the family, Libra had been nothing but a good girl and an important part of their lives, but they didn't want her to suffer for too long.
As the dog's bladder began to fail rapidly, causing her unbearable agony, the family made the painful decision. Before the end, however, April wanted to do one last thing for her beloved pooch to thank her for the unconditional and everlasting love she had given.

Libra was always a big fan of car rides, so April decided to grant her one.
On that last ride to the vet, April rolled down the windows, allowing Libra to enjoy her favorite experience. For those 30 minutes, the old and sickly dog looked absolutely at peace as she savored the breeze and cherished the passing scenery with her eyes closed one last time.
It seemed she had found her peace.

Libra has now been set free from all the pains that burdened her.
To honor her best childhood buddy, April shared a beautiful photo of Libra's final car ride to immortalize the memory of her beloved dog. It's beautiful, but at the same time, heartbreaking.
We can't imagine the pain the family must have felt making that decision for a member of their family who had given them unconditional love from the very beginning. Hopefully, Libra is in a better place, watching over her family.
Rest in peace, sweet girl.
