Alan, a 49-year-old man, was distraught after not being able to find his loving companion.
Alan and his dog Mitzi were like peanut butter and jelly. They were inseparable after Alan's first dog passed away, and they became best friends ever since.
Unfortunately, Mitzi went missing one day during her morning walk with Alan. Alan tried his best to find her, but eventually, he had to call it quits and go back home.
Alan was scared that Mitzi wouldn't survive the winter night. “I broke down crying to anyone I spoke to about Mitzi,” the heartbroken man said. “I missed her so much.”

Alan returned the next day with a group of friends to help find his Jack Russell dog. They searched for 10 hours with no success, which is when he decided to put up missing dog flyers.
It was soon after this that a neighbor called to tell Alan that they saw their dogs sniffing around a foxhole.
Alan decided to check it out to see if maybe it was his Mitzi stuck in the foxhole. He brought one of Mitzi's favorite toys and began squeaking it by the hole.
Eventually, Mitzi whimpered, and Alan started digging for her. He pulled her out by her collar, and at last, the two were reunited.
