Photographer Captures the Affectionate Side of Foxes, and Her Pictures Will Melt Your Heart
Roeselien Raimond has quite the knack for capturing foxes—with her camera, that is.
The Dutch photographer has spent hours observing foxes as they live their lives through her camera lens. Her patience and dedication have been rewarded with gorgeous photos of these beautiful little creatures.
Raimond captures seemingly all the moments of their day-to-day lives. Without the worry of being harmed or hunted, the foxes are caught on camera relaxing, playing, cuddling, and grooming one another.
Raimond lovingly refers to foxes as “huge cuddle-bugs.” She appreciates the “romantic love” between a male fox and a vixen, as well as the familial love shared among siblings and their parents.
Most specifically, she highlights the parental love shared with their kits. During a baby fox's life, their mother showers her kits with love and care.
This is a stark contrast to the foxes of fairy tales, who are known to be cunning and sly, only out for themselves. These gentle and sociable animals seem ready and willing for a cuddle session at any moment!

Raimond jokes that the trick to capturing these photos is to turn herself into a sort of “uninteresting furniture.” By making herself uninteresting or unthreatening, the foxes feel comfortable continuing their everyday fox-life activities.
