Wild Goose Was Taken To A Vet Clinic For Treatment, And His Longtime Girlfriend Managed To Find Him
Arnold the goose was supposed to be getting medical care, not hosting a reunion at the clinic door. But while staff at the Cape Wildlife Center in Massachusetts worked to treat his injured foot, his longtime mate somehow tracked him down and showed up outside the building.
The pair had spent years together at their pond, so Arnold’s sudden disappearance did not go unnoticed for long. Once the clinic team realized his girlfriend had found him, the whole situation turned from a routine rescue into something a lot more memorable.

“As we prepared to sedate Arnold and get him ready for surgery, we heard a faint tapping at the clinic door,” the staff at the center wrote. “We turned to see that his mate had waddled up onto the porch and was attempting to break into our clinic! She had somehow located him …”
That’s when the visit turned into a full-on goose stakeout.

Arnold's surgery went well, and the goose is on his way to a full recovery. "She remained there throughout the entire procedure, watching us work and never moving from the doorway," the staff wrote.
The staff placed Arnold near the door and opened it so the couple could be together. "They both seemed much more at ease in each other's presence," they added.
This is similar to the eggshell rescue that turned into a remarkable transformation.
Even the clinic staff seemed to know this was bigger than a standard checkup.

The vets expect Arnold to fully recover within the next few weeks. Fortunately, he will not have to face his troubles alone, as the staff plans to allow the visits to continue.
"We will do our best to get him back out quickly and will perform bandage changes and treatments in view of the doorway whenever possible so that his mate can check up on him," they wrote, adding: "Through sickness and health ..."
This goose couple is clearly not done yet.
