Woman Finds Out Through "Lost Pets" Pages That Her Grumpy Cat Has A Secret Life
A cat named Ron Weasley is quite eccentric and has a hard time finding humans to connect with. Fortunately, he found a wonderful foster mom. Ron's story is quite interesting—he was initially intended to be put up for adoption, but soon after his foster mom surrendered him to the adoption center, she received a call.
"He was taken to the PetSmart adoption center while under the care of a rescue, but he hated everyone, and I was soon called back to come get him," Brandi Schmidt, Ron's mom, says. "Their words were: 'Don't bring him back… ever.' And he's been with us ever since."

Ron is actually a very endearing and cuddly cat. His bad behavior at the adoption center may have been partly because he had already chosen his human. To be honest, he does have a tendency to get into trouble, and Schmidt is always waiting to see what his next mischief will be.
"Ron got his name because he's extra weasel-y," she said. "It fits him as he doesn't stop at the word 'no.' He loves to be in the business, and everything is his business. We call it 'the business chooses the cat.' He always finds himself in predicaments.
He didn't like a lot of people when we first adopted him, but now he is always on the welcome committee when we have visitors. When at home with him, he is my shadow. He has to follow me all around the house. He has also recently learned to open the cabinets and knock the entire container of Greenies cat treats off the shelf, causing the entire crew to feast and pig out on cat treats."

Ron loves spending time outdoors. He often goes on adventures during the day and lets himself back into the house when he is done. This is his routine, and he always comes back, giving his mom no reason to worry about his frequent absences.
She assumed he was just taking strolls or napping in the sun—when, in fact, the mischievous cat found himself a second family. Recently, Schmidt received a text from her friend, telling her that she had seen Ron’s photo on a lost pets page.

"I found out he was on the missing page because I had a friend send me a screenshot," Schmidt says. "I never expected to see his face on the lost pet Facebook page. He apparently had been hanging out at the neighbor's house, and I'm sure they fed him, which I know he loved because we were all on a diet at the time in this house."
Schmidt was amused to see Ron's adorable face on the lost pets page. It also made her quite happy. He's never been great at making friends, and this is a big step for him—having two families he likes.

Schmidt talked to Ron’s other mom, her neighbor, who said that the charming cat comes by frequently. Her children often leave the front door open, and Ron just walks in. His second family was delighted to hear that he is not a stray or lost cat and has a loving family.

Ron still goes out adventuring every day, and Schmidt assumes that he drops by to visit his second family. As long as he is home by evening, she doesn’t mind. And one thing’s for sure—the cat’s second family doesn’t mind either.
"She said he is welcome over there whenever, and he often gets snacks from the kids," Schmidt says.
