It Was An Odd Day On The Job When These Officers Were Sent On A Rodent Rescue Operation
Police officers usually spend their shifts dealing with crime, traffic, and emergencies, but this Berlin case took a much softer turn. A call from a local hospital led officers to a tiny hamster hiding outside in a bush, and the rescue quickly became the kind of story people remember.
Patients had spotted the little rodent alone and worried that he was lost or abandoned, so they asked for help. The officers searched the area, found the frightened hamster, and brought him to the station so he could stay safe.
What happened next turned a simple rescue into a surprisingly sweet police story.
The cops discovered the fuzzy hamster and named him Sir Henry. He was then placed in an empty glove box and transported to the police station.

At the station, he was able to enjoy some well-deserved R&R in a comfy hay bed while checking out some nice police gear.

Duty called again when brave officers dove into a sewage drain to pull an adorable trapped puppy out.
They took him to an animal shelter, but they couldn't bear the thought of parting with their new furry companion.

The next day, one of the officers drove to the animal shelter and adopted Sir Henry. He was then taken back to the station and welcomed by the police spokesman as part of the 'whole family of the Berlin Police Department.'

Touched by Sir Henry's beautiful story, someone created a sketch of the hamster cop.
