It Was An Odd Day On The Job When These Officers Were Sent On A Rodent Rescue Operation
Police officers are usually seen at their best when stopping crime or chasing after criminals, but that's not the only thing on their daily agenda. A typical day on the job took an unexpected turn when officers from the Berlin Police Department in Germany received an emergency call from a local hospital.
This wasn't just any emergency call, however. Patients at the hospital were concerned about a little hamster they had spotted, who was cowering alone in a bush nearby.
It seemed that the poor little guy was lost or abandoned, and they wanted to get him help. Officers arrived at the scene and began their search for the frightened hamster.
It's not every day that we see officers helping out rodents, but it appears these cops were more than happy to follow through with their rescue mission. After a bit of searching, they managed to coax him out from his hiding place and took him to the police station to keep him safe.
The cops discovered the fuzzy hamster and named him Sir Henry. He was then placed in an empty glove box and transported to the police station.

At the station, he was able to enjoy some well-deserved R&R in a comfy hay bed while checking out some nice police gear.

They took him to an animal shelter, but they couldn't bear the thought of parting with their new furry companion.

The next day, one of the officers drove to the animal shelter and adopted Sir Henry. He was then taken back to the station and welcomed by the police spokesman as part of the 'whole family of the Berlin Police Department.'

Touched by Sir Henry's beautiful story, someone created a sketch of the hamster cop.
