Firefighters Bid The Sweetest Farewell To Their Deceased Station Dog Who Served Them For Years, Confers A Title On Him
Firefighters deal with chaos for a living, but one station dog turned their toughest days into something softer. For more than a decade, Negro, the beloved canine of the Iquique Fire Department, was right there with the first responders, bringing calm, comfort, and that unmistakable “we’ve got this” energy.
Then the unthinkable happened. Negro passed away, and suddenly the whole department was facing the hardest call, not out on the street, but inside their own family. Captain Jorge Tapia described him as well-liked and respected, and you can feel how personal the loss was when they say goodbye to “one of our own,” because he truly was part of the team.
