Few sights in the ocean are as unforgettable as a humpback whale launching itself out of the water. These massive animals can stretch up to 60 feet long, and when they breach, the moment feels almost unreal.
That is exactly what makes this South Africa footage so striking, a huge whale putting on a show that looks powerful, graceful, and a little bit surreal all at once. The clip has drawn attention because it captures one of nature's most dramatic displays in perfect detail.

The video has gone viral on social media, and for all the right reasons.
A scuba diver named Craig Capehart captured a magnificent whale on video while he was off the coast of Mbotyi, South Africa. By the looks of it, the adult whale appeared to weigh nearly 40 tons!
He later shared the incredible video on YouTube, where it gained millions of views. Craig mentioned that he was with three other divers aboard an inflatable motorboat, and while they were searching for sardines to track nearby predators, they saw a humpback whale breaching majestically in front of them.
It’s similar to the enormous humpback whale that leaped near a fishing boat.

“It seems that never before has a recording been made of an adult humpback whale leaping entirely out of the water! A very rare event, indeed,” said Craig in the video’s description.
“Dolphins and even great white sharks have been seen flying out of the water, but this is a first for an adult humpback whale!”
Craig and his mates were certainly lucky to see this beautiful creature enjoying itself in the water. It seemed to be relishing all those twists and turns!
