Kitten Under A Rental Car Hood Is Alive After A 60-Mile Trip
A tiny gray and white kitten somehow survived a 60-mile ride hidden under the hood of a rental car, and the discovery left a repair shop stunned.
At Firelands Collision Center in Norwalk, Ohio, auto body technician Garrett Frey and the rest of the staff noticed animal footprints, heard a meow, and followed the clues to a Kia Soul. What they found was a kitten who had spent the entire trip tucked inside the engine area, then somehow made it through the ordeal alive.
By the time the hood was opened, the little stowaway had already turned a scary ride into the start of a new life.
This is where they found the two-month-old kitten. According to Toni Garbo of Firelands Collision Center, the kitten was curled up close to the shock mount.
The kitten was hiding in a spot no one expected.
The kitten ran off when the staff opened the hood.
After chasing her around the shop, the staff provided her with food and water. The employees named her Avis.
The kitten instantly became a favorite among the auto shop employees. She was the team's little princess.
Once the hood was opened, she bolted.
The employees just love her.
She has them wrapped around her paws and is already so loved and spoiled.
Avis got his routine shots.
The veterinarian confirmed that he is healthy. They also discovered that the little princess was actually a prince.
Avis was given his own bed, litter box, and toys. All were donated.
The team decided that the shop's front office would be his residence. He'll have plenty of space to roam.
Frey says that the shop is his home. He'll be the beautiful little cat of the entire auto shop.
The shop quickly made sure Avis had what he needed.
Since Avis is part of the team, he also greets the shop's customers.
The entire team agreed that Avis is special. He'll be an excellent companion for greeting their customers.
Now he is part of the daily routine at the shop.
Avis loves greeting the customers.
He's very friendly to the people who get their cars serviced.
Avis will have a good life at the shop, together with his newfound family who loves him so much.
