Kitten Reunited With Its Owner, Fifteen Years After They Were Separated
Do you believe in miracles? Not in an overly dramatic way, but in a less intense, yet still magical kind of way.
I believe there are definitely some things that qualify as miracles, especially those that are highly unlikely to occur. Sometimes, being reunited with a lost item or pet can be considered a miracle—the longer something is lost, the less likely it is to be found.
Sadly, the longer a pet is lost, the more likely a family is to think that it won’t return, and they will move on with their lives, although their hearts will always feel a little heavier. However, sometimes the pet does come back, just not always as quickly as they might hope; like this cat, who was reunited with its owner after fifteen years!
If nothing else, this story highlights the importance of microchipping your pets to ensure they can always be returned to you. It is also crucial that if you find a pet you suspect to be lost, you take it to a vet to be checked out in case it is not a stray, but rather someone’s lost family member.
This story begins all the way back in 2005—and the world was a very different place back then! In 2005, Charles adopted an adorable brown tabby named Brandy.
Brandy was just two months old when she was adopted, and she spent several happy months with Charles. That was until the unthinkable happened.
Brandy loved to explore the outdoors, and one sad afternoon, she went out into the backyard and never returned home. Charles was devastated by her disappearance.
Charles searched everywhere for Brandy, but as time went on, he knew a reunion would be less and less likely. He hoped that she was still okay and had been adopted by someone loving.
Eventually, Charles had to move on. He moved away and eventually adopted two more cats.

However, fifteen years later, Charles received a phone call that he had only dreamed about. A random number called, and when he answered, it was the Palmdale Animal Care Centre, informing him about an injured cat they had found that they thought might be his.
Charles was confused, but the vets had checked the information on the microchip of the lost cat. The cat was found only 65 kilometers (40 miles) from where he lived, and while his address had changed, his phone number was still the same.

The next day, Charles went down to the animal centre to see who they had found. The cat turned out to be Brandy, the cat he had lost so many years ago.
After all these years, Brandy was older and thinner, but she was still the sweet cat that Charles remembered. Charles even shed some tears over their heartwarming reunion.
They are not sure what happened to Brandy during the years she was missing from Charles' life, but they assume that someone took her in and cared for her, yet never bothered to check her microchip. Sadly, since Charles already had two cats, he was unable to take Brandy back in.
Luckily, his sister volunteered, and Brandy, after a 15-year absence, is back in their family—and Charles will visit her all the time.

Fifteen years is a long time to be separated from someone, and it is miraculous that they managed to reunite after so long! There was definitely some alignment of the stars required to reunite Charles with his beloved Brandy.
This story of a reunion between a cat owner and a brave cat is definitely some kind of miracle. Cats and dogs go missing all the time, but the longer they are missing, the less hope some people have of getting their beloved pets back.
The fact that some pets are so curious that they love to explore is something we cherish about them, but their sense of adventure sometimes leads them to get lost. On other occasions, people may assume that a pet is lost and take it in without checking its microchip, inadvertently kidnapping someone else’s pet.
