Tiny Kitten Being Bottle Fed By Man On The Subway Is Warming Hearts Everywhere
In an ideal world, kittens would stay with their mama cat for a whopping 12 to 14 weeks. In the world we live in, not enough kittens are granted such precious time with their mama cat.
It is a cruel world we inhabit today, which has made us insensitive to the people and living creatures around us. However, every once in a while, we witness something that restores our faith in humanity.
Gillian Rogers was taking a ride home on the New York City subway when she noticed something that immediately lifted her spirits. She saw a man with a tiny kitten wrapped in a towel.
"He was bottle-feeding her," Rogers told reporters. "You could see the care he had. My heart felt like it was going to explode seeing someone with that much compassion. He was so present in the moment."
When kittens cannot receive the much-needed, nutrient-dense milk that a mama cat's body produces just for her kittens, human caretakers have limited options. We can either find a foster mama cat or obtain specially formulated kitten formula and bottle-feed the kittens ourselves.

After watching the adorable duo for a while, she approached them and asked the man how he had met the kitten.
"We had a chat," Rogers said. "He told me he had found the kitten alone between two buildings."
He didn't want to leave the kitten there, all alone and helpless, so he rescued her, taking it upon himself to care for her.

"The kitten was looking up at him as he fed her," Rogers told reporters. "It was so heartwarming. I told him, 'Thank you.'"

Rogers' stop arrived soon after that, and she had to get off the train before she could find out his name. But even though they parted as strangers, merely witnessing the man's loving nature left Rogers feeling overwhelmed.
"It was truly a special moment. When I got off the train, I felt like I was walking on air," Rogers told reporters. "I felt joyful — like it renewed my faith in humanity. There are still decent people out there."
For her, the scene was particularly emotional; as the creator of Pet Rescue Squad Inc., she has devoted her life to aiding animals in need. She had no idea that the photos she posted would have such an impact.
"I had no idea the photo was going to resonate as it has. It makes me happy," Rogers said. "I think we all need something to cheer us up."
