The Owner of Sally The Mermaid Cat Believes Disabled Pets Are Not Difficult to Manage and They Want You to Know About It
Paralyzed pets receive love and tenderness from their owners, even though they cannot return the favor in the same way an able-bodied pet might. However, owners of paralyzed pets say that these animals still express themselves in other ways and are just as loving and loyal as ever before.
They are not sad or depressed about being paralyzed because they have a home and family that loves them, no matter what. Pets with amputated or mangled legs have been known to move around by wiggling their bodies and using momentum to propel themselves forward.
They can use their noses to scratch themselves, as well as wag their tails to express happiness. They purr when they are content and nuzzle up to those who love them most.
Cats can be carried like babies or dangle from a shelf or piece of furniture using their claws. Some sit in a wheelchair because they cannot move from the waist down, while others prefer to crawl around on the ground.
Paralyzed pets are still very much alive and active inside, even though they can no longer walk or run around. When pet owners have a paralyzed pet, it teaches everyone to become more compassionate and caring toward animals.
By adopting a disabled pet, you will not only be saving a life but also receiving all of the beautiful health, social, and psychological benefits that come with sharing your home with a pet. Today, we would like to introduce you to Sally, the mermaid cat, who is living her best life despite lacking mobility in her lower half.
Sally The Mermaid Cat
This story is about Sally, The Mermaid Cat, who is paralyzed from below her waist and cannot move her back limbs, nor can she feel them. Janez, who is Sally’s owner and rescuer, recalls the first time he saw Sally, who was just lying there with no possible movement.

Getting a New Life
Janez talked to his friend about this cat who was lying still and wasn’t moving at all; hence, he thought Sally was dead. But suddenly, Janez saw Sally’s front limbs move slightly, after which he realized that Sally was alive and rushed her to a vet.

Discovering the Sad News
The vet examined Sally, took some X-rays of her, and discovered that she had a bullet lodged in her neck. The bullet had made Sally paraplegic, so the vet gave her some medication and informed Janez that Sally would never be able to walk again.

Got a Home and a Caring Owner
This news made Janez really upset, and he decided to take Sally home and care for her. He has to take a little extra care of Sally compared to regular pets, but Janez finds happiness in looking after her.

All the Work Is Worth It
He has to empty Sally’s bladder all by himself at least twice a day. He must always keep an eye on Sally, ensuring that she is not stuck somewhere and has enough space to move around freely.

A Little Extra Responsibility
Janez has a lot of work and responsibility, but seeing Sally happy at the end of the day makes it all worth it. One day, Janez had his friends over to his house, and they were a little creeped out by seeing Sally's immobile limbs.

The Idea of Turning a Cat into a Mermaid
This situation sparked an idea in Janez’s mind, and he decided to make a mermaid costume for Sally. Even though Sally cannot feel the cute outfit over her limbs, its fuzzy material keeps her warm and cozy.

Living the Good Life
Janez just wants everyone to see Sally as an average cat who has suffered a lot but is now enjoying her life as a cute house pet and mermaid. Despite her disability, Sally moves around freely and rushes to her favorite sunbathing spot in the house.

Cuddling Spot with Janez
She purrs when she is happy and cuddles with Janez like any other normal cat would. She also loves going out for walks with the help of her walker and plays in the park and around the house as though she has all her limbs working perfectly.

Favorite Rug!
Janez buys Sally all her medications and other items that make her comfortable and simplify her life. Sally loves rugs, and this one particular rug is her favorite, where she enjoys taking sunbaths.
