Family Thought They’d Lost Dog, Only For Him To Be Found 16 Days Later, Swimming Along The Shorelines
Chuck, a 3-year-old Golden Retriever from Brick, New Jersey, vanished during a game of fetch and left his family searching for more than two weeks.
What followed was a tense stretch of uncertainty, until a resident spotted him swimming along Barnegat Bay and called for help. Troopers Ryan Koehler and Vincent Ferdinandi were dispatched to the scene and quickly pulled the exhausted dog to safety.
By the time Chuck was reunited with his owners, the rescue had turned into the kind of story dog lovers do not forget.
A missing Golden Retriever from Brick, New Jersey, was reunited with his owners after 16 days

Chuck was playing fetch with his owners when he suddenly got scared and disappeared into the woods

What actually happened was that Chuck, a 3-year-old Golden Retriever, was playing fetch with his owners when he suddenly became afraid and ran into the woods near their house. The family continued to look for him, but their efforts were in vain.
For days, there was no sign of him.
Using a motorboat, they immediately found the exhausted dog and guided him to land

A few joggers tried to approach Chuck after he had been missing for more than two weeks, but he was startled by them and plunged into the river. Chuck swam for two miles along the shore of the bay from that point until he was found by police troopers.
It’s a different kind of rescue, like the dog saved days after falling from a shrimp boat.

Officer Ferdinandi said that he saw the sigh of relief that a member of their family was back, and the dog was glad to see his family as well. "We are just happy that both the dog and the owners can be reunited," he added.

The Golden Retriever is the ideal canine companion if you enjoy spending time in the water. They’ll love to tag along with you to the beach or your preferred lakeside.
They’ll also take your game of fetch into the pond or pool to work off their energy. This breed will undoubtedly enjoy splashing around when the temperature rises, whether it is at the beach, in a river, a lake, or in your own swimming pool.
Chuck’s rescue was the happy ending everyone was hoping for.
