Neglected Cat Received A Life-Changing Makeover And Found Her Forever Home Two Days Later
We all love cat rescue stories with happy endings, right? Well, this one is a beauty!
Fluffer, the cat, was rescued by Julie Bolchalk from the Arizona Humane Society after someone called the organization to report a severely neglected animal. At first, it was hard to tell what kind of animal Fluffer was because the poor cat was so covered in matted fur. However, with a lot of care and time, Fluffer became the stunning, fluffy cat she had once been.
The beautiful 4-year-old cat was restored to her former gray and white glory by the kindhearted people on the AHS team. They removed 2 lbs (or almost a kg) of matted fur from the cat's body!
But that's not the end of the story. Merely two days later, Fluffer was adopted by her new, cat-loving owners!
The AHS Emergency Animal Medical Technicians responded to a call for help after Fluffer's owner sadly passed away.

It took around an hour for the team to remove all of Fluffer's matted fur.

"She is an absolute sweetheart, so much so that she required no sedation during her procedure, which is extremely unusual when caring for cats who are likely in pain," said Bretta Nelson, AHS' Public Relations Manager.

"As a nonprofit organization that cares for the Valley's sick, injured, and abused homeless pets, our community, adopters, and donors are critical to the work that we do, and we couldn't be more grateful for their support. For people interested in making a gift, they can do so here," Bretta said.

Julie Bolchalk, the team member who responded to the call, said she has never seen matting this severe.

"I have seen some rather horrific cases in my time rescuing animals, but I had never seen matting this bad—it was larger than her entire body. Yet, she was very sweet and was groomed without having to be sedated, which is a miracle," she said.

Fluffer is doing well and now lives with her new family in Glendale.

Here's how people reacted to the transformation.
