Concerned Samaritan Captures The Moment His Neighbor's Dog Realized He Had Been Abandoned By His Family
One neighbor’s quick glance out the window turned into a heartbreaking rescue story. A dog was crying at the door, scratching and waiting for the family that had already moved away.
Islas Aguillares saw the pup in distress and realized the neighbors had left him behind that same morning. What followed was a race to keep the dog safe, calm, and out of the heat until help arrived.
By the time the story spread online, the abandoned dog had already become a symbol of just how fast a pet can be forgotten.

Unfortunately, he cannot afford to keep the pup and asked for help from other concerned citizens. It had been hours since the dog was left outside, and he could not stay overnight alone in the dark.
The video went viral after social media users heard the dog's cry for help
The poor pup kept scratching at the door, waiting for his owners to let him in
He had no idea they had left him behind when they moved
It is absolutely heartbreaking to watch him look for his owners
He began pacing the property, keeping an eye out for his humans to no avail
He finally gave up looking and sat in their front yard, looking as sad as ever
That was the moment the rescue effort really started.

Islas happily announced that the dog approached him, and he kept him out of the heat while waiting for the foster
The caption from Islas's post reads: "I finally gained his trust. :) Bittersweet, you will soon have a good home." Someone saw the video and offered to foster the dog.
Shirley Martindale-Horner saw Islas's post and went to the puppy's rescue
Islas reported on the progress when Shirley dropped by to pick up the dog. The caption reads: "God bless Shirley Martindale-Horner; he now has a loving home with wonderful owners."

They named the rescued dog Aubrey. The poor pup, who was once left behind by the only family he had ever known, is no longer without a safe haven.
Thanks to the collective effort ignited by Islas, the Fresno community was able to give a homeless dog a new lease, or in Aubrey's case, a leash, on life. It was absolutely devastating to witness him cry for his family.
Islas's concern for the dog saved him from a life of hardship. Shirley made sure Aubrey will never be abandoned by his family ever again.
Aubrey got a second chance, and this time, someone stayed.
