Disabled Dog Begs For A Second At Chance At Life After Being Rejected For Eight Years
"Where there's a will, there's a way!"

Dogs have been known as "man's best friend" for centuries, but sometimes it seems like they're the ones who need us most. Not all dogs have it easy, some are born with defects or end up in shelters through no fault of their own.
Disabled dogs tend to see a side of humanity that many of us never have to experience or witness. They're often rejected, abandoned, and face an uphill battle when it comes to finding a loving home.
Sometimes it feels like the whole world is against them. Aren't they deserving of a chance at happiness, just like any other dog?
As much as we may want to, we can't save them all... but every disabled dog that you do manage to shelter and love, is one more life saved.
Think about the feeling of trying to fit in and constantly being left out, feeling like you don't belong anywhere. Now imagine that happening your whole life. That's the reality for many disabled dogs.
With a story like Nessie McNubbins', it's hard not to get emotional. Such a sweet, spirited pup, and yet she's been through so much in her short life.
Nessie is an adorable Chihuahua who was born without her front legs due to neglectful breeding. When Nessie was taken in by a shelter, the staff fell in love with her right away.
Despite how much she was admired by the shelter's visitors., no one wanted this disabled puppy.

She looks so happy and adorable! Even with her disability, nothing can stop Nessie from living her best life.

Nessie pondered for a long time why she was never chosen by any of the families. Over the course of eight years, she was "adopted'' three different times, but each time, she was returned to the shelter within a few days.
Nessie was fed up with feeling "inadequate" and "unwanted," but when Theresa Loyacano stumbled across her photo on social media, her life changed forever!!
We catch a glimpse of Nessie's adorable kangaroo-like movement!
According to Mom, Nessie has her very own wheelchair, although she doesn't use it often.

Theresa was certain that Nessie had a special place in her life, so she reached out to the animal shelter and adopted this sweet soul.
The first time the Chihuahua arrived at the shelter, they were concerned about her adapting to her new surroundings. This time, though, everything came together perfectly! After a long journey, Nessie had finally arrived at her "forever home."

Despite her flaws, this Chihuahua has learned to embrace them graciously and is on a mission to live the best life possible!
