Maternal Pit Bull Warmly Embraces An Orphaned Squirrel, Who Sees Her As Its Mom
One of the most wonderful things in life is the relationship a mother has with her child. It makes no difference whether they are related by DNA or by choice; what matters is the unadulterated love that exists between them.
Everly, a pit bull who is exceedingly kind and amiable, got to experience the wonder of motherly love when a baby squirrel, who had been abandoned, chose her to be his new mommy. As a dog, Everly has always been a loving and nurturing animal, which is only fitting given her breed.
Pit bulls have an undeserved reputation for being vicious and violent; however, the breed is actually inherently nurturing and affectionate. In the 19th century, pit bulls were sometimes called "nanny dogs" because of their reputation for being devoted, loving, and great with children.
Everly has always been eager to make friends with other animals and has inherited all those loving, devoted, and loyal pit bull traits. As a result, Morgan Joy Groves, Everly's mother, wasn't too surprised when Everly attracted the attention of a small baby squirrel.
While on a stroll, Everly and Groves came across the small squirrel, who appeared to be alone. The little one was just a baby, and perhaps he sensed that Everly would make a wonderful mother, so he was immediately drawn to the adorable dog.
The bond between a mother and her child is one of the most beautiful things in life
The small squirrel persisted in following Everly until she and Groves were escorted home by the little one. Everly rested there, which encouraged the little squirrel to approach her even more closely.
What matters is the pure and unconditional love that exists between them
Everly was followed by the small squirrel, who eventually accompanied her and Groves all the way home. The young one cuddled up on top of Everly, and the two of them enjoyed a wonderful, cozy slumber together.
Everly has always been an affectionate and nurturing dog
Everly then decided to take care of the infant. She adopted the squirrel, and the two of them shared many naps and hugs.
Pit bulls were known to be loving, loyal, and excellent with children
Groves understood that, in order for the young squirrel to develop into a healthy adult capable of taking care of itself, it would require more care than she and Everly could provide.
Everly has inherited all those loyal, loving, and nurturing pit bull qualities
This meant that after a short while, Groves and Everly took the newborn squirrel to a wildlife rehabilitation facility so that it might receive the best care possible.
Morgan Joy Groves wasn’t too surprised when Everly returned the squirrel’s attention
The little guy immediately grew curiously attached to the sweet dog
Everly cares deeply for her young foster child, but by residing at the wildlife refuge, he will have the opportunity to develop alongside two other squirrels and eventually join them in the wild.
