First responders rescued this 28-year-old man and his beloved dog.
If you were asked the question, "Would you do everything for your dog?", what would your answer be? Many of us would surely respond, "Of course, I would do everything, even risk my own life."
While many of you may still be formulating the best answer or thinking of situations to provide as examples, there is no need for this man to do the same. He has proven that he will do whatever it takes for his dog, and no explanation is required of him.
He has already done his part, and there can be no doubt that he would risk his life again for his dog if faced with a similar or worse situation. This dog accidentally jumped into the Hudson River, prompting his alert owner to jump in and save him.
Fortunately, both the courageous owner and the dog were unharmed, thanks in part to the quick response of the rescuers who arrived on time. The Harbor and Emergency Services Unit of the NYPD immediately responded to a call from one of the witnesses who spotted the pair struggling in the river.
They were then brought safely to shore by the responders.

That's when the rescue turned urgent.
Here's a tweet from the NYPD Special Ops and a photo of the incident.
Great work by #NYPD Harbor & ESU rescuing a man who jumped into the Hudson River to retrieve his dog that accidentally fell into the water. The man was unable to return to shore, and responding personnel quickly removed both him and his dog to safety.

Hats off to this owner for his bravery. If not for his heroic deed, his dog would have drowned.
Thanks also to the concerned individuals who immediately called the rescuers to save not just the dog but the owner as well. Finally, thanks to the team of rescuers who quickly arrived at the scene and successfully rescued the pair.
It’s the same kind of split-second heroics as the firefighter who rappelled down a steep cliff to save a puppy.
What a close call for both of them.
