If you really think about it, nothing in this world is truly perfect, perfection simply doesn't exist, it only lies in the eyes of the admirer. That's why we shouldn't be expecting perfection as often as we do, it's something unobtainable and unrealistic.
This is what photographer Mandy Freeman wants to prove to the world. She takes amazing photographs of perfectly imperfect rescue animals, proving how truly beautiful they really are.
Chuck came into my life in 2015. From the moment I met him, I knew he was different – but I also knew he was perfect in every way. Chuck was found thrown away in a bush like a piece of rubbish. His jaw (and other bones in his tiny body) had been broken. Although his jaw was never fixed, he grew into the most beautiful boy – he has a big heart, kind spirit, and tenacity. This series was inspired my beautiful tuxedo boy who is perfectly imperfect. Every animal featured here is a rescue – either looking for a home or living their best life in a forever home in Cape Town. The stories of where they have come from are heartbreaking – they might be broken, but they are definitely not beaten. I believe that every single animal deserves a second change – whether they look perfect or not. (h/t)
