Pregnant Woman Gives Birth The Same Day As The Pregnant Cat She Fostered
Lauren Maners has always loved animals and has been ready to offer a helping hand to those in need. She frequently volunteered at shelters and fostered pets until they found their forever families and homes.
However, when she became pregnant, she decided to focus on herself and her baby, taking a break from taking in any more animals.
That didn't last long, though. When she and her husband, Dave, found an adorable white cat, they couldn't resist taking her in.
They discovered the white cat, whom they named Dove, in a parking lot—alone, wounded, and pregnant. She wasn't in a suitable environment to give birth.
Without a second thought, Lauren took her in and fostered her. She cared for the cat, took her to the vet, and they even formed a close bond.
The most adorable thing, however, is that when they took Dove to the vet, they found out the cat was due to give birth around the same time as Lauren. And guess what? That is exactly what happened.
Keep reading to find out how they both fared in their journey to motherhood.
Lauren and her husband were overjoyed when they found out they were expecting a daughter

Lauren said that she and her husband were overjoyed and excited to welcome their baby into the world; however, Lauren's pregnancy wasn't easy.
“I had a difficult pregnancy. I suffered from extreme sickness and ended up having to be induced due to complications. Plus, having a baby in the peak of COVID,” she said.

Lauren has fully documented a significant portion of her life on social media—from the beginning of her relationship with her husband, Kainan Maners, to their marriage, to their pregnancy, and finally to the birth of their daughter, Kylie.
One of the things Lauren loved doing most is helping animals in need

She decided to take a break from fostering when she got pregnant, which quickly ended when she met Dove

“My husband and I found Dove extremely skinny and injured on the side of the road. I attempted to find her owners and was informed that she was a stray who had been eating out of a dumpster at a nearby café for over a year,” she said about Dove. “All of our no-kill shelters were full, and I couldn’t just leave her knowing that she would have to take care of her babies in the wild.”
Even though she was pregnant and close to her due date at the time, she still decided to take Dove in and provide her with everything she needed. They became close and almost inseparable soon after.
Lauren knew she just couldn't leave the cat out there

“Had an exclusive Pregnant Girls Club meeting with my newest rescue, Dove. Does anyone want to guess who’s going to pop first?” Lauren captioned this Instagram post.
After that, Lauren and Dove's story quickly went viral. People couldn't get enough of how adorable the mom duo is.
The two supported each other through their pregnancies, spending almost all their moments together

“Dove and I had an instant bond. It was as if she knew that I was pregnant and that I was a friend. She was not instantly trusting of my husband the way she was of me.”

When the couple returned home after Lauren gave birth, they were surprised to see that Dove had also given birth as well

“I am not certain that we gave birth on the exact same day; I just know that when I returned from the hospital with my baby, Dove had also given birth while I was gone. Now, Dove and her babies are all doing great. They have all been properly vetted and rehomed, and are living spoiled indoor lives.”

We hope that Lauren and Dove's story inspires you to help an animal in need. They need help all the time.
Volunteer at a shelter or adopt a pet. You could also donate to clinics or shelters.
There are plenty of pets out there who are simply waiting for the love that you can give them.
All the kittens spent a lot of time with the family before they found their forever homes

“I have been vegan for over five years, and animals have always been very important to me. I feel extremely connected with all living beings on this earth, and I believe it’s important to be their voices,” Lauren said.
“I feel that animals are capable of much more emotional depth than most humans give them credit for. So I knew that I had to bring Dove in and give her a safe place to have her babies without having to worry and fight for their survival. I related to that being pregnant and about to have my own child.”
Lauren made sure that Dove and all her kittens found amazing and loving families and homes

Dove now lives with Lauren's friend, and the kittens aren't far either, so the family can visit whenever they want

Pregnancy is not always an easy experience for both humans and animals. Fortunately for Lauren and Dove, they both had each other to lean on during their pregnancies.
Hopefully, their story can inspire more people to help animals or pets who have nowhere to go. Remember, it's not their choice to end up on the streets, and we all have the power to help them, no matter how small the help is.
