Rescue Dog Is Gifted With A Yard For The First Time In His Life
Some rescue dogs spend years without ever having a real yard to call their own, and Bentley was one of them. For a bloodhound who loves grass, that meant a lot of time on concrete and a lot of waiting.
KaTarra Taylor adopted Bentley and wanted to give him the best life possible, but renting kept getting in the way because of his size. So she made a big move, and that decision opened the door to something Bentley had never really had before.
What happened next turned a simple patio into a brand-new favorite place.
Meet Bentley boy.

Shortly after their big move, KaTarra's boyfriend and his pup-pal joined them. Now, as a big happy family, KaTarra decided she wanted to give Bentley another huge surprise.
Her original post, with the big announcement.

From hard concrete...

To a luscious soft lawn.

But it didn't come without a lot of back-breaking hard work first.

Bentley's wonderful human knew just how much he enjoyed hanging out in the grass, especially when they would go for walks or visit the park. She often saw him lying in any grass he could find.
So, KaTarra set her plan in motion. Looking to her boyfriend Nick for help, the duo set out to turn their hard concrete patio into a yard that their pups could love and adore, especially since Bentley had never really had one of his own before.
In fact, it only cost them $400 to complete.

And they did so in a single day.

After they ripped out all of the concrete and moved each piece away...

In came the soil...

And then the luscious sod grass.

Bentley loves his little grassy area. We've even added a canvas shade for him. Nick really went above and beyond on this project.
It also reminds us of the dog who vanished in the wilderness after a car crash, then reunited with his owner.
Talk about perfection. What a blessed boy he is!

You can see the gratitude all over his face!

Once Bentley noticed what was waiting for him outside, he went straight to the perfect spot and lay down there for several hours. It has since become his favorite spot.
As much as it brings Bentley joy, it should help tremendously with his anxiety issues as well. He may struggle, but KaTarra said he has gotten better every day.
On top of all the love Bentley receives, he has really come a long way from where the pair first began.
Such a sweet boy.

Love the family photo op.
