Cat Rescued and Raised by Dog Siblings Thinks He Is a Dog Too
A rescued kitten named Azmael ended up with an unlikely family, and the result is as heartwarming as it is funny. The Belgian firefighter who brought him home hoped his dogs would accept the tiny newcomer, and they did far more than that.
Instead of treating Azmael like an outsider, the dogs folded him into their daily routine and helped raise him as one of their own. He now plays with them, walks with them, and even seems to think he belongs in the pack.
When Nathalie shared a photo of the trio on Reddit, people immediately fell in love with the little crew.

Nathalie shared the details: “The pets in the picture are Nimue (Altdeutscher Schäferhund), Azmael (the cat), and Liam (White Swiss Shepherd).”
The kitten was found by Nathalie's husband in the middle of the road, sitting helplessly in a small pool of blood.
Nathalie recounted, “It was still alive, but seriously injured. He tried to find his family, but no one knew where the kitten had come from, so we took him to the vet, where he stayed for a few days.”

The vet did not have high hopes for his survival.
Fortunately, the little fella made it through the injuries, and they eventually brought him home.
Nathalie narrated the events of the day he was brought home, saying, “On the very first day the kitten was at our place, we noticed that he had eyes only for our Swiss Shepherd.”

The little family clearly made room for one more.

Nathalie shared, "At first, the dog wasn’t sure what he was supposed to do with the little creature (Is it food? A new toy?), but after a few hours, he decided that the kitty was a new friend."
She further added, "He took care of the critter (who, in turn, tried to nurse on the dog). They have a very special relationship."
Commenting on their special bond, she said, "The kitten decided that our Shepherd was the best pillow in the world. Later, he also became best friends with our other dog, Nimue.”

This pack proves that the bond between animals can be surprisingly strong.

Even their routines seem to revolve around keeping Azmael included.
That devotion reminds us of the terrified cat trapped in earthquake rubble, choosing the firefighter who saved it.
This pack of dogs with a cat in it is a superb example of how different animals can form a bond and get along.
Sharing Azmael's habits, Nathalie said, “Nearly every morning, Azmael joins us on our walk. It’s like we have three dogs.”
“But we have to be careful because Azmael still doesn’t pay attention to cars on the road, so we have to quickly grab him and carry him if we see a car coming,” Nathalie explained. “He is not afraid of other dogs and even chases them away when they annoy our dogs.”

He fits in so well that he almost looks like he was born into the pack.
This special bond has also been influenced by the surroundings where they reside.
They have a lovely house in a village surrounded by meadows and forests.
“We are really careful not to walk too far from home when Azmael is with us,” Nathalie remarked.

They try to leave Azmael at home when they plan to take longer routes for their walk.
About their daily walks, Nathalie further explained, “When we want to go on a long walk, we have to make sure that the cat stays at home (usually the only way to ensure that is to feed him right before leaving the house; otherwise, he’ll try to follow us).”

Azmael can be seen here relaxing on his favorite pillow.

They look like the three musketeers, with Azmael being one of them.

Since Nathalie posted their picture on the social network, the trio has received a lot of love, and people are saying all sorts of beautiful things about them.
