This is a very inspirational story of a Belgian firefighter. He resued a kitten some years ago and eventually decided on adopting him.
He was very hopeful that his family members, including his dogs, will gladly welcome him and they did not disappoint him.
His pooches fell so in love with the kitten that they practically raised him as if it was a dog.
The firefighter named the kitten Azmael. He has now become a permanent member of the pack of dogs. He does everything with them but they all take care that he doesn't get hurt. He plays with them and even joins them on their daily walks.
Nathalie, the firefighter's wife, posted a picture of this gang at the "Aww" subreddit sometimes again and they have garnered a lot of fans immediately. The picture has the three of them sitting together on the road and it has received 77 thousand upvotes.
The kitten was found by Nathalie's husband in the middle of the road sitting helplessly in a small pool of blood.
Nathalie told that “It was still alive, but seriously injured. He tried to find his family but no one knew where the kitten had come from, so we took him to the vet where he stayed for a few days.”
Fortunately, the little fella made it through the injuries and they eventually brought him home.
Nathalie narrated the events of the day he was brought home and said, “On the very first day the kitten was at our place, we noticed that he had eyes only for our Swiss Shepherd."
She further added, "He took care of the critter (who, in turn, tried to nurse on the dog). They have a very special relationship."
Commenting on their special bond she told, "The kitten decided that our Shepherd was the best pillow in the world. Later, he also became best friends with our other dog, Nimue.”
Sharing Azmael's habits, Nathalie said, “Nearly every morning, Azmael joins us on our walk. It’s like we have three dogs."
"But we have to be careful because Azmael still doesn’t pay attention to cars on the road, so we have to quickly grab him and carry him if we see a car coming," Nathalie told, "He is not afraid of other dogs and even chases them away when they annoy our dogs.”
They have a lovely house in a village surrounded by meadows and forests.
“We are really careful not to walk too far from home when Azmael is with them,” Nathalie remarked.
About their daily walks Nathalie further explained, “When we want to go on a long walk, we have to make sure that the cat stays at home (usually the only way to ensure that is to feed him right before leaving the house, otherwise he’ll try to follow us).”
