Moment 47 Flemish Giant Domestic Rabbits Were Rescued And Are Now Searching For A Permanent Home
Some rescues sound dramatic, but this one is pure rabbit-sized chaos. A team with the RSPCA showed up to a cramped, dirty situation and found 47 Flemish Giant domestic rabbits packed together like they had nowhere else to go.
Trevor Walker, an inspector with the RSPCA, described the conditions as unpleasant, especially in the heat. The complicated part is that Flemish Giants are huge and they need space, yet these gentle giants were forced to live in filth and tight quarters, with at least one rabbit needing medication for weepy eyes and a wound on his neck.
Now the shelter is hoping these docile, tolerant giants can finally trade that mess for a permanent home.
The rescue team found 47 enormous individuals living together in a cramped, dirty place

That cramped, dirty setup is exactly what the rescue team walked into when they counted all 47 enormous Flemish Giants.
Trevor Walker, an inspector with the RSPCA, said:
“These poor rabbits were living in cramped and dirty conditions, which would have been very unpleasant for them, especially in the heat. Luckily, a vet found that they are all in good condition — one is on medication for weepy eyes and a wound on the back of his neck.”

Trevor Walker pointed out the heat made the situation worse, even though the vet found the rabbits were otherwise in good condition.
The RSPCA provided all the bunnies with loving care until they were in optimal shape. The RSPCA wanted to place them with good owners in permanent homes where they could lead happy lives.
The Flemish Giants were renowned for being placid and tolerant, despite their enormous size. As a result, the shelter felt confident that the bunnies would make excellent pets.
This rescue also echoes the 77-pound lost sheep makeover, where his woolly transformation left him unrecognizable.
The rescue workers took them to a vet clinic for check-ups and evaluations

After check-ups and evaluations, the RSPCA provided care until the rabbits were in “optimal shape,” including one on medication for weepy eyes and a neck wound.
Walker says that they hope they'll find loving homes. “They will make good companion animals with a nice temperament.”
Owners may make those enormous rabbits their best buddies with enough time and thorough knowledge. Raising a cute rabbit and cuddling their enormous soft fur whenever you need a big hug would be wonderful.
The Flemish giants were well-known for their docile and tolerant disposition

Since these Flemish Giants are known for being placid and tolerant, the shelter is now pushing for permanent homes where they can actually settle in.
Well, this was quite a story. Have you ever heard of or seen a huge Flemish rabbit? If given the opportunity, would you like to own one?
