After Finding Six Bald Puppies Deserted In The Cold, Everyone Was Shocked To Discover They Are Great Pyrenees
A cold morning in Alabama turned into a rescue story nobody expected. Six tiny puppies were found abandoned in the woods, huddled together for warmth and barely recognizable as dogs.
They were rushed to a shelter in Sylacauga, where staff quickly realized the pups were in terrible shape and would need serious care. What started as a heartbreaking discovery soon became a surprising recovery, and then came the twist that changed everything about who these puppies really were.
By the time their true breed was uncovered, the little strays had already captured plenty of hearts. Read on.
A guy came across 6 crusty young puppies in the woods of Alabama on his way to work

The staff at the shelter assumed that the little puppies, weighing only an additional 5 pounds, were of the small variety, but because of the repulsive condition they were found in, determining their true origins was difficult.

The first guess was that the puppies' breeds were cocker spaniel mixes, which, to everybody's shock, later turned out to be far from what they truly are. The malnourished pups were taken to Auburn Vet College for significant medical attention, and later, they were placed into two foster homes so they could be cared for more effectively.
They were so stinky that the sanctuary team had to use masks in order to bathe them

Nicole Zaguroli stated that the foster homes that were perseverant enough to handle these very vulnerable little pups were their guardian angels.
There was no quick fix here, just a lot of care and patience.
The puppies started to gradually recuperate and grow white, cozy fur

When the puppies were finally ready to be set up for adoption so they could find their forever homes, an increased inquiry concerning what breed they were arose once more. But then their appearance suggested that they were Great Pyrenees/poodle mixes.
It was only after the pets started to rapidly gain significant weight that one of the adopters did a DNA test. Then it was discovered that these cuties are 100% Great Pyrenees, and they are called the Pyrenean Mountain Dog.

Dogs of this breed vary in size and strength, as well as having incredible guarding abilities. They can grow to around 30 inches at the shoulders and weigh more than 100 pounds.
Now this doesn't seem or sound like a poodle, right? Well, it's hard to believe that these cute and incredible animals were once little, abandoned, and crusty.
Luckily, each little pup that was rescued found a caring, forever home to settle down in, and it is all thanks to the amazing volunteers working at Second City Canine Rescue.

After a couple of months, the puppies not only adjusted to their new homes; they also became balanced and healthy while being energetic and truly fulfilled companions to their owners. One of the puppies, named Bear, has an Instagram account where his daily experiences and adventures are shared with his followers.
