A New York cat search went off the rails in the most adorable way possible, when a missing black cat named Glory turned into a full-on reunion story involving not one, but two lookalike black cats.
It started with Violet, who was staying at an Airbnb with her two black cats, Nas and Nia. Then Violet was hit by a car in NYC, lost her phone, and couldnt get back for her cats. The Airbnb owner stepped in, handed Nas and Nia over to New York City Animal Control, and while they were stuck waiting, Beth Stern launched her own urgent mission to find Glory, the little cat with striking golden eyes.

While Nas and Nia were housed at Animal Control, a rescuer you might know, Beth Stern, was on a mission of her own. To be precise, she, along with a team, was engaged in an urgent search for a missing black cat with striking golden eyes, known as Glory.

That’s when Violet’s world went quiet for a second, because Nas and Nia were suddenly in Animal Control while Beth Stern was hunting for Glory across Manhattan.
Stern requested her New York followers to join in the search and assist in distributing flyers, although these were strangely taken down by anonymous individuals.
Simultaneously, she came across a doppelganger black cat, which she decided to foster and named Glory B. Stern affectionately referred to her as a "soft, velvety slice of Heaven," thankfully rescued from the chilling weather at that time.
“We got to save another kitty, even if it’s not our Glory. This little sweetheart is approximately 2 years old and a darling! The sweetest little girl ever. Welcome, Glory B.🎈 (Why do I feel my house is going to soon be filled with every homeless black cat?!)❤️,” Stern shared.
Beth even shared that flyers for Glory were being taken down, then she stumbled on a doppelganger black cat and decided to foster her as Glory B.
Not long afterward, the pretty house panther Glory B found her furever home.
This twist feels like the impostor who tried to claim a rescue cat as the “rightful owner” and got caught.
“Glory B… perfect, perfect girl.🌸” Stern shared.
In the meantime, the hunt persisted for Glory, who was last spotted in a building undergoing renovation. It was during this search that rescuers stumbled upon Nas and Nia in the city shelter, initially believing one of them might be the elusive Glory.
Unfortunately, when Beth finally learned about Glory's fate, it was not a happy one for the missing cat. Nevertheless, despite the disappointment, the need to rescue these stunning black cats was just as imperative.
Though the story concluded tragically for Glory, the quest for her led to the rescue of another cat, as well as an astonishing reunion for Violet, Nas, and Nia!
While Glory B was settling in and eventually finding a forever home, the search for the real Glory led rescuers straight to the city shelter, where Nas and Nia were waiting.
“Remember Glory, who went missing a few weeks ago? Sadly, we finally learned the truth, and her story ended tragically. My heart broke, and I’m still trying to move on,” shared Stern.
“However, while we were frantically searching for her, we called all the local vet hospitals and shelters. The local ACC got 2 black cats admitted that week, so I pulled them immediately in hopes one was Glory. Neither was Glory, but do watch this and listen to this amazing story.
If it weren’t for us looking for Glory, I fear this ending wouldn’t have been this joyful for these 2 beautiful kitties and their human.”
Unfortunately, when Beth did finally learn about Glory's fate, it was not a happy one for the missing cat.
