Adorable Puppy Rescued Afar Has A Heartwarming Reunion With the Army Sergeant Who Saved Her
Some rescue stories start with a chance encounter and end with a reunion that feels almost impossible. That is exactly what happened when Army Sergeant Webb found a tiny stray puppy overseas and decided she could not walk away.S. military. She cared for the little dog while juggling her duties, and the bond between them grew fast. But when Webb’s tour ended sooner than expected, she faced the painful possibility of leaving PupPup behind, until Paws of War stepped in to help.
What followed was a long wait, a lot of uncertainty, and one reunion Webb never stopped hoping for. Read on.

The bond between a person and their puppy.

“I’m desperately asking Paws of War to help me bring my beautiful, helpless PupPup back to America with me because I can’t stand the thought of leaving her behind,” Webb wrote to Paws of War. “This place can be very harsh for dogs, and I fear she will die if she is left behind. Plus, we have formed such a strong bond that means everything to me. I can’t turn my back on her and would be forever grateful for the help to get her home.”
Those puppy dog eyes tell no lies.

Robert Misseri, co-founder of Paws of War, immediately began working on this case. “We got on the ground while [Webb] was still serving,” Misseri told reporters. “She was about a week and a half from leaving, so we knew we had a very short window to get PupPup.”
First, they took PupPup to a vet to be vaccinated and then organized a foster home for her to quarantine in until she could be transported. After several delayed and canceled flights, the dog could finally board a plane and head off to her new future.
It also reminds me of the pilot who took in a dog left behind at San Francisco airport.
When PupPup finally arrived, Webb couldn't believe it.
“She didn’t believe it until she finally showed up there,” Misseri told reporters. “She has called me every day since and texted me that she still can’t believe that PupPup is with her. She said it would have weighed very heavily on her heart if she had to leave PupPup there.”

PupPup and Sergeant Webb couldn’t be happier to be together at last.
“They’ve become inseparable,” Misseri said.
