Army Sergeant Webb came across a little stray dog in need of help while she was serving for the US military overseas. The skinny black and brown puppy was the feeblest in a group of stray dogs, and Sergeant Webb's heart broke when she saw how much the dog was struggling.
She immediately started caring for the poor puppy, whom she named PupPup, raising the puppy while performing her other duties. But, Webb's tour ended sooner than projected, and she was concerned she'd have to leave PupPup the puppy behind.
Webb and the puppy had formed an incredible bond, and it would break her heart. It was also possible that the now thriving dog would be equally heartbroken without Webb.
Webb reached out to Paws of War, a nonprofit organization that helps army personnel bring animals like PupPup the puppy) they've rescued back to the US, hoping that they could bring in PupPup.

“I’m desperately asking Paws of War to help me bring my beautiful, helpless PupPup back to America with me because I can’t stand the thought of leaving her behind,” Webb wrote to Paws of War. “This spot can be very harsh to dogs and I fear she will die if she is left behind. Plus, we have formed such a strong bond that means everything to me. I can’t turn my back on her and would be forever grateful for the help to get her home.”
Those puppy dog eyes tell no lies.
Robert Misseri, Paws of War’s cofounder, immediately started working on this case. “We got on the ground while [Webb] was still serving,” Misseri told the reporters. “She was about a week and a half from leaving, so we knew we had a very short window to get PupPup.”
First, they took PupPup to a vet to be vaccinated and then organized a foster home for PupPup to quarantine in until she could be transported. After several delayed and canceled flights, the dog could finally board a plane and head of to her new future.
When PupPup finally arrived, Webb couldn't believe it.
"She didn't believe it until she finally showed up there," Misseri told the reporters. "She has called me every day since and texted me that she still can't believe that PupPup is with her. She said that it would have weighed very heavy on her heart if she'd had to leave PupPup there."
PupPup and Sergeant Webb couldn’t be happier to be together at last.
“They’ve become inseparable,” Misseri said.
