Shelter Dog Has Watched 221 Other Dogs Find Their Forever Homes While Waiting To Be Adopted
Meet Bob. Bob was found back in April 2019 as an injured stray and was taken in by the RSPCA for care.
It was evident early on that Bob would need to work on some things before he would be ready to find his forever family. However, his trainers believed in Bob and were confident that his perfect family wouldn't take long to find.
Sadly, Bob has now been waiting at the shelter for over two years. 775 days have passed, and beautiful Bob is still patiently waiting for his forever family.
Poor Bob hasn't had much luck. Just as he was getting on top of some of his behavioral issues and was finally ready to be adopted, the pandemic struck, making it much more difficult for people to visit the shelter to meet him.
Now that restrictions are beginning to ease, Bob is being overlooked for dogs who are seemingly better behaved or easier to handle.

Bob has seen 221 other dogs get adopted in the time he has been at the RSPCA.
"We spent an extended period of time working with Bob behaviorally and helping prepare him for a new home, and then, of course, lockdown hit and delayed us from being able to find him a new home," Jake Cowing from the RSPCA said in a press release. "He’s such a fabulous lad with a great character, and I hope we can find him the right family."
Bob has always struggled with being in a crate and walking on a leash. The shelter believes this could be due to the teaching methods someone in Bob's past may have used to try to teach him these things, which have left him frightened and uneasy.

However, Bob and his trainers have worked very hard, and he is now able to walk on a long leash.

Of course, he prefers to run free whenever he can, so he would be best suited to a home with a large yard.
The RSPCA believes Bob would also be suited to an adult-only home. But aside from that, all Bob really wants is to be loved and taken care of.
"As we got to know him, we discovered that he is an absolute sweetheart," Cowing said. "He’s very friendly and loves to play."

Bob is a really sweet and loyal soul. "Once he trusts you, he is the most loyal companion and friend you’ll ever find," Cowing said.
Bob has worked so hard and has been waiting for so long to find a family. The RSPCA says they are more than willing to offer ongoing support and training to his new family.
"Two years is a long, long time - and Bob has spent more than two-thirds of his life in kennels," Cowing said. "While we’ve done the best for him, we desperately want to see him in a home of his own with someone who can give him the life he deserves!"
"He has overcome a tough past and is our champion, a survivor, and our friend. He’s a big, silly clown who will change the life of his adopters, and anyone who takes him on will certainly change his."
