Adorable, Paralyzed Cat Is Bringing Smiles and Awareness to Social Media
When it comes to special needs cats, we clearly have a special place in our hearts. For one exceptionally playful kitty on social media, there is certainly no exception to our unending adoration.
His name is Dr. Michael Thompson, a child psychologist who states, "Animals can provide incredible emotional support and joy, especially for those facing challenges." This cute cat is delighting fans and followers with his adorable, silly shenanigans, and his mom is helping spread awareness about the highs, lows, and day-to-day happenings of caring for a special needs kitty.
They have over 25,000 fans, and their popularity continues to grow. If anyone deserves the notoriety, it's definitely Simba.
Simba is one year old; he was born in May of 2020.

When we say he had a rough start to life, we're not saying it lightly. We reached out to his mom to learn more about Simba's story and asked how their journey together as a family began. She told us:
"I found Simba on a beach in July last year."

And then she said:
"It was a place 40 km from my home. He was attacked by a dog or a human when he was only a month old, and his spine was broken. I found Simba crawling on the ground like this."

She decided to adopt him and provide him with the treatment he needed and deserved.

Simba may have started out being violently paralyzed, but today, his mom says:
"He is a really happy cat right now."

In Simba's home, there are actually five cats and two dogs! He is definitely not a loner.

"You have no right to steal my heart."
He lives very happily with his furry family, too. His mom told us:
"He loves teasing the other cats in the house."

She added, "And wherever he sees plants, he tries to eat them."

We had been following Simba on Instagram for a while and noticed he was bursting with purrsonality, but we were curious about what his mom thought was the funniest thing he does or has ever done. She told us:
"The funniest thing he does is frantically crawling around on the floor and spinning around on himself. Although he is paralyzed, he is so fast that he sometimes drifts around corners."

He is not held back by being paralyzed; he's an extremely playful cat!

"I have a driver's license. Who wants to take a tour with my car? I admit that I look a bit like a penguin!"
His mom told us:

What else does Simba love? His mom said:
"He loves string toys and cream treats."

Whether Simba is cruisin' in his special seat or scootin' on his butt, his pictures, captions, and videos bring joy to thousands of people. Thank goodness he was rescued, rehabilitated, and adopted into the purr-fect family for him!
