Dogs have always been known as man's best friend. However, in some homes, cats are known to have this unique honor.

Beth Mancuso is a well-known photographer. She has created a unique yet beautiful series of photographs called "A Boy and His Cats."

The series captures rare intimate moments between the photographer's three sons and their two ragdoll cats, named Irie and Lucy by Mancuso's family.
The photographer aims to capture the unique bond of love and care between the owners and their cats—human beings and animals—through this series of photographs. You can see more of the photographer's work on her website here: Manic Mother Photography.
Mancuso welcomed Lucy, their first cat, to her family first, and sometime later, she was followed by her half-sister Irie.

Her kids are totally, madly, and deeply in love with these cats, and they are practically inseparable.

The photographer shares her experience that led to this series on her website and says, “At some point, I realized I was taking quite a few pictures of my boys and their cats.”

Some of her pictures are directed, but most of them are taken spontaneously, and that too with her iPhone.

As every individual is different from the other, similarly, their experiences and behaviors towards others are different too.

Mancuso has also observed that each of her boys has a different kind of relationship with their cats.

By far, the most obsessed with these furry animals is her eldest son.

Her eldest son tries his absolute best to somehow smuggle the cats into his bedroom every night.

Mancuso states, “We couldn't have asked for better cats.”

The Mancuso family finds these cats to be the best companions.

No matter whether the kids are playing or reading books, the cats are always there to keep them company.

Mancuso has no plans to abandon this amazing series of photographs anytime soon.

She hopes to keep working on it indefinitely, forever.
