These Two Men Risked Their Lives To Rescue Stranded Foxes From Flood Waters

Two Canadian men have been labeled heroes after they risked their lives to rescue some foxes trapped in floodwaters. Colin Graham and Jordan Olson saved the foxes after spotting them stranded on some rocks sticking out of the water.

Welwyn, a village about 250 kilometres East of Regina, was recently hit with some extreme rain. "All of our crops here are under a lake pretty much," Colin said.

Colin is an animal lover and had been observing some foxes on his property for several months. "They have been sitting out on this rock pile near our house for all spring," he said.

Colin and his sister found a young fox stranded above around eight feet of floodwater. "My sister wondered what happened to the foxes, so we drove out there, and there was just one rock sticking out of the top of the water," Colin said.

Colin and his friend, Jordan, decided to dive in and rescue the frightened fox. "One guy I was with, Jordan Olson, suggested that we should probably just go out there and swim and get it," he said.

At first, the fox wasn't sure about the men swimming towards him. "When I first got there, he had a little bit of energy, and he bailed off the rock and into the water and tried to swim away," Colin said.

"But I was able to catch up to him," Colin said. The helpless young fox was no bigger than a tiny kitten.

Colin and Jordan put the fox safely in their truck and took it home. "We put it in the back of my truck, and our house is right close there, so we took it home, dried it off, and got it warmed up," Colin said.

Faith in humanity restored!

Later that day, the men spotted the mother fox, so they were able to reunite the mother and baby. "Then we were driving later, and we saw the mother out there, so we took him back," Colin said.

"They're reunited," Colin chuckled. "I saw them running around the other day."

How special that Colin and Jordan were able to save the lives of the stranded foxes and reunite a mother with her baby. At the very least, the two men certainly have a good story to tell their friends!

I don't know about you, but my faith in humanity is officially restored. How wonderful it is to know there are people out there who care so much for animals!
