Ninad Sane, a 26-year-old software tester and amateur photographer, had the privilege of witnessing and capturing this heartwarming scene. Positioned perfectly at the right time and place, he immortalized the endearing interaction between the tigress and her cub.

The river serves as both a bath and a playground for the young tiger. While the cub frolics and splashes around, seemingly oblivious to its mother's intentions, she patiently tends to her task. Like any parent, she exhibits remarkable patience and tenderness, allowing her cub to enjoy its innocent playtime.

Despite the distractions, the mother tiger maintains her composure and control throughout the encounter. Her affectionate gestures, such as cuddling and kissing her clean cub, underscore the deep bond between them. It's a universal language of love and nurturing that transcends species barriers.

Ninad Sane had eagerly anticipated the opportunity to observe the tiger mother and her cubs for quite some time. When they finally appeared, making their way down to the river, he was delighted to witness the mother in the water with her cub. The young tiger displayed playful behavior, reminiscent of a human child's antics in the water.

Indian tigresses typically give birth to a litter of two to four cubs. In the initial stages, the cubs are blind and completely dependent on their mother for survival. The tigress ensures their safety by isolating the den from potential threats, including male tigers who might harm the cubs. She is highly vigilant and will often move her cubs to new locations to escape detection by predators or rival tigers.

Feeding and nurturing the cubs are solely the mother's responsibility. During the early weeks, she spends significant time nursing them, only leaving the den for short periods to hunt. As the cubs grow, the mother teaches them essential skills for survival, such as hunting techniques and how to mark their territory.

The bond between the tigress and her cubs is strong and lasts for about two years, during which the cubs learn and gradually become independent. Once they are mature enough, the cubs will leave their mother to establish their territories, carrying forward the lessons and skills imparted by their diligent mother.
