Officers Spot A Dog Who Spent Hours In The Water Searching For Its Owner, Finally Rescues Him With Their Help
A fisherman’s dog, Heidi, basically turned into a real-life rescue beacon. While a boat capsized in Moreton Bay, she didn’t just float around, she searched for her owner for hours, treading water with pure stubborn hope.
Here’s where it gets wild: Heidi was spotted bobbing near the wreckage, right by tackle box stuff and a wetsuit. The man who spotted her made the fast call to jump in, get her out, and immediately alert the Coast Guard, even as the dog kept whining and trying to get back into the water like she knew her person was still out there.
And then the search finally paid off, because Heidi wasn’t done yet, and the skipper was found clinging to the overturned vessel.
A fisherman’s dog, Heidi, was spotted floating next to a tackle box, a wetsuit, and other items from a boat that had capsized

The man made the quick decision to jump to the dog's aid, pull it out of the water, and bring it to land. He then informed the Coast Guard of all that had occurred and requested their prompt assistance.
The man decided to rush to the rescue and take the dog out of the water and bring it to the shore

That’s when the fisherman went from “spotting something weird” to hauling Heidi out and running straight to the Coast Guard with what he’d seen near the tackle box and wetsuit.
The boat had obviously capsized by that point, but the rescue crew showed up without delay. During this time, the dog was constantly whining and trying to get back in the water.
In the end, a man was saved after several hours of searching. And yes, he was rescued by the beautiful dog, which was simply incredible.
Everything happened because the dog owner lost control of the ship, and they entered the water as a result of the sudden movement

While the rescue crew rolled in, Heidi kept whining and straining to get back into the water, like she could out-stubborn the whole ocean.
It’s similar to the dog saved days after falling from a shrimp boat, when survival odds looked grim.
The man later claimed that everything occurred as a result of him losing control of the ship. Due to the ship's unexpected movement, both the man and the dog suddenly found themselves in the water, but in opposite directions.
In the end, the dog had to swim for more than 12 hours to locate his human father.
The dog ended up swimming for more than 12 hours to find his father

Hours later, the missing skipper was located, and the timing made it feel even more unreal after Heidi’s 11-plus hour swim to find him.
They made a post on FB saying:
What an incredible doggo! Heidi tread water for 11 hours after her human’s boat sank in Moreton Bay yesterday. She was spotted by a fisherman, and police launched a full-scale search for the missing skipper, finding him clinging to their overturned vessel this morning.
